information, the Board addressed the letter with the owner who was present at the last Regular Board meeting which was held on October 19, 2016Here are some bullet points in reply:1.This complaint is generated to *** ***, but is directed at the Board PresidentComplainant does state in the closing paragraph that it is possible that *** may not respond, but I have always responded to complainant by letters to himSo essentially, this doesn't seem to be an accurate complaint against *** ***.2.Paragraph oneIs an insinuation and complainant's opinion that there is a lack of concernThe President of Board does more for Makakilo Cliffs than any other Director and ownerThis is only his opinion and the Revdex.com should be aware of thisThe Board has taken action and put up the no trespass signs, and has encouraged residents to call *** *** *** if they have concernsComplainant was given these directions the one and only time he attended a board meeting to discuss this issue.3.Complainant has videos, but only one very recent video clearly shows several people leaving the areaIn this case, he followed house rules by calling *** *** *** which is the right thing to doComplainant is saying there are other incidents, but there are other residents in building one and two above the park, and residents in building three right next to the park that have never made a complaint.Although neighborhood residents do use the area sometimes for the kids to play mostly, the park is regularly used by the residentsThese recent incidents are probably due to the park being temporarily used for resident overnight parking because of a construction project currently in progressOnce the project is completed (in a few weeks) and the park is shut down to temporary parking, the vehicles will not have access.4.The Site Manager denies ever saying the board president doesn't want to hear about incidents. 5.Paragraph two....more assumptions without factsBoard President speaks with and sees many residents from nearby buildings 1, 2, 3, 4, and other buildings regularly using the park.6.According to the Board President, he has on many occasions actually gone down to the park and spoken with the people thereIf they were residents, he let them beIf they were not they were asked to leaveThere were occasions where the Board President did see kids hanging on the trellis structures and he sent them on their wayThis wasn't very prudent on his part, but he has done this rather than call *** *** *** because the people cooperated.7.Complainant has suggested removing the lights and tablesIt is suspected that this is because he doesn't want anyone to use the park because he prefers not having children around making noiseHe has complained about this at board meetingsMakakilo Cliffs is a family friendly property, and the Board made the decision to keep the park open because residents do in fact regularly use them, as they should be able to enjoy the property they are paying fees to use and maintain.8.Complainant is suggesting fencing be installed around the propertyThis was investigated by the Board a few years ago and it was determined that for the minimal amount of nonresidents that may occasionally use the park for the kids to play or sit in the shade, they do not have the budget money for such a project when the priorities are roofs, water pressure upgrades, painting, fencing, asphalt driveway repair, and hillside erosion problemsFencing would require a majority vote by the residents that already feel maintenance fees are too high, complainant being one of them.9.Complainant suggestion for hour security which is not in the budget, and the board determined that a security guard is also not in the next year's budget and would only do what residents are should already be doing in the event of an issue...calling *** *** ***.10.Paragraph threeComplainant has only brought this issue up to the Board one other time, and the board did follow up with trespassing signs and letters to the owners to call *** *** ***.11.The Board appreciates complainant being vigilant and calling *** when necessary.12.Near term actionsThe Association will be closing the park for parking soon once the work in that area is finished, which should eliminate the cars entering the areaAnother .letter will go out to owners giving direction on security proceduresLights will eventually be enhanced to give better lighting to the area hoping to discourage use after 1Opm.In conclusion, the Board President works hours a day, six days a week at his job and much of that time taking care of Association businessHe also dedicates his evenings and Sundays to Association business constantlyHe sleeps from 1Opm to 3am every night, so if he doesn't hear or see things at the park- that is whyHe does not see anything taking place at the park at or 8pm when he gets home, and doesn't hear anything except very rarely before pmThe park closes when he goes to bed, and it isn't his duty to patrol the property, nor should anyone rely on the Board President to do soHe does, however; take action when he sees it's necessary.If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to
