I had a house fire. I hired him based on a recommendation from family members. This was an insurance job. I paid him initially $62,000 to get started. He dragged his feet getting started. He would show up for one day and that was it for the week and it got worse. Materials were purchased. Some materials are here and some have been installed. Some materials were left outside in the elements and have been destroyed. There was additional work that was above what the insurance would cover and I was fine with that. I wrote a check for $27,093.55. He did work that messed up my roof which will have to be repaired. I have hired a company who has provided estimates on finishing the small amount of work that was started, mitigating the work that was not done properly and then when that is complete, they will provide another estimate which provides an amount to complete the job. Currently we have had to move out of the rental house that was covered under insurance, because it was only good for a year. We had to get a loan for a trailer and my son and I are living there now.
