I had been tanning with Malibu Tan for over a year before this issue happenedI never had any issues with the girls in the store, it was *** *** and *** *** *** from corporate who were the cause for conflict in my situation
I had decided to close my account at Malibu because I was moving to a different city, and I went in and talked to the manager, *** *** and she helped me close my account that dayI did not have any paperwork in front of me, instead she pulled up the page on her desktop and had me put my fingerprint on the finger pad to confirm cancellationHad I seen what I was consenting to, I would have corrected the issue then and there
months later, I received a call from Malibu Tan saying that I had my card had been declined for three the three months that I THOUGHT I had cancelled forI explained to her I had gotten a new debit card because of a security breech, and I asked why my account had been being charged, since I went in to cancel three months priorShe explained that my account was not cancelled, but that it was frozen, which means you're charged a smaller amount every month to avoid paying an enrollment fee once you decide to go back to tanningI told her that three months before this phone call I went in to CANCEL, NOT freeze the account*** told me it must have been just a miscommunication, apologized professionally, and GAVE me the corporate phone number to waive the charges because there had been a mistake*** handled the issue professionally and respectfully
It wasn't until this point that I decided to file a complaintI called *** *** the director of human resources, and explained the situationShe informed me that she would get back to me on the issueAbout a week later she called me back, and told me that they were offering to pay HALF of the $that was charged on my accountI told her that I didn't think that was a fair resolution, considering I had not been the one to make the mistake in the storeI did not have any paperwork in front of me three months prior to confirm what I was signingShe got extremely rude and defiant with me and I could not believe how unprofessional and disrespectful she was beingI let her know that I would contact a lawyer if the issue was not resolved fully, and at that point, she hung up on me and would not take any of my calls
At this point, I decided to contact the Vice President, *** *** I called him and I gave him my name, and his immediate response was "Yeah, *** already spoke to meCall your attorney." And he hung up on me alsoI could not believe that I was treated with such disrespect from a companyI will have to wait a few months to see if any of this affected my credit, and if so, I will have to go through an entirely different dispute to get that exsponged from my credit reportEventually, the charges were taken off of my account, without them letting me know or any formal apology for how I was treated

Contacted by company shortly after filing this complaintIndicated they would send another check for amount owedCheck still not received

I truly can't express enough positives about this company.!!! I would recommend them to anyone. They turned an absolute disaster into a gorgeous, unique work of art. I had a poured epoxy floor installed by another company that destroyed my floors and a large portion of the value of the house. After numerous complaints to the product's manufacturer, I was put into contact with Stained By Design, the Sister Company of Monkey Bars. Joe Welch & Mark Fontenot assessed the damages, made recommendations and assured me they could give me the beautiful, durable, sanitary floors I needed. This company is extremely professional and upstanding. Joe & Mark are honest, hardworking men who take the utmost pride in both their work and their word. (And they are really nice guys). If you are looking for TRUE CRAFTSMEN, contact this company. ABSOLUTELY THE BEST
