Malloy Toyota Reviews (1)

Review: I purchased a 2009 Toyota Tacoma July 28, 2012 and traded my 202 Nissan that I paid transfer and license fees and processing fees of $175. However DMV stated until May 15, 2013 that the 2002 Nissan was still owed by me and by there records still in my name. I paid 2012 second half personal property taxes on the Nissan and was being charged 2013 personal property taxes on the 2002 Nissan. I am also being charged [redacted] County personal property taxes for the 2002 Nissan as they have DMV records that it is in my name also. I no longer won this vehicle and sold it to Kern Toyota the day I purchased the Toyota Tacoma. I have spent weeks trying to resolve this issue with the most recent phone call from [redacted] at Kern Toyota stating that this vehicle is not in my name and that the paper work was done correctly, filed the day of purchase. He was very rude and did not seem to understand my complaint. When two counties and the DMV of Virginia all state that this vehicle is in my name ,plus I was being charged taxes. I would say it was not taken care of during my purchase of the vehicle o was the necessary paper work filed as I was charged for. the phone call before that on May 13, 2013 when I had once again tried to resolve this issue with Kern I was told they could not help me and the lady that answered the phone hung up on me. I was told several times the previous week that I would be faxed the information. However I never received this or where any phone calls returned as I was told that they would be.Desired Settlement: Processing and licensing fees I paid refunded and all parties involved to be informed that I did not own the vehicle after July 28, 2012

I am rejecting this response because: I have a Tax bill from 2012 on the Nissan 2002 for $78.97second half that paid and I received another one on the 2002 Nissan for 2013 for $113.39. I first contacted the county of [redacted] regarding this matter on April 30, 2013. There first email stated that there records from the periodic DMV download of [redacted] County and( dated May 2, 2013) the 2002 Nissan was register to me at my address. It also states if the vehicle was traded that the DMV does not indicate this. Next email from [redacted] County on May 6, 2013 also states that the VIN number is still in my name as reported by the DMV still showing I own the 2002 Nissan. She has marked my account as a problem folder and will keep checking periodically.

Finally after several calls to Kern Toyota and [redacted] checking back, email May 13, 2013 sates the all necessary adjustments have been made. May 14, 2013 I also received an email from treasurer on this matter and that they would be refunding me the taxes I paid in 2012 on the 2002 Nissan.

I was being charged taxes on the 2009 Toyota that never has been the issue. However the 2002 Nissan was not removed until May 13, 2013, 10 months later not when I traded the truck to Kern Toyota and paid the fees to do so on July 28, 2012. As **. [redacted] and **. Kern both state was done the day I bought the new truck and traded the 2002 Nissan. I am sorry **. [redacted] does not recall speaking with me, however I spoke with him and several other people at Kern Toyota. Which either were rude, hung up on me or told me several time they would get the information faxed to me, the DMV and [redacted] County.

So the issue is still the same and I have documents to prove they did not do the necessary paperwork at time of sale as they stated they did in letters. I do not need to be told to contact the county that I moved or let the new locality where I currently live to register my Toyota. Since the Toyota is not the issue. I had done this in 2013 and they also had the 2002 Nissan registered to me. So this is what brought it to my attention also.

Being told to do this has nothing to do with the matter of Kern Toyota not having the 2002 Nissan removed from my name July 28, 2012 as they have stated they did. As to phone calls I was not contacted by either **. [redacted] or **. Kern.

Attn: Anita Horne

I am rejecting this response because **. Kern has never really addressed the matter filed in the complain. Which is my paper work not being processed on the day I bought the 2009 Toyota and traded the 2002 Nissan (was charged a fee to do this). Apparently as **. Kern has previously stated was to be done on line and records updated with DMV July 28, 2012. However I was charged by [redacted] County for 2012 second half and again for 2013. So this obvious was not done as **. Kern has stated or DMV records would have been updated. So when county pulled records for bill in 2012 and again when I contacted them in April 2013 it would not have show I owned vehicle. I have since taken care of and corrected this issue myself. With a number of calls and emails to [redacted] County.

I once again do not need to be told by **. Kern to I have my address updated to my new address. I have done this, when I moved in March 2013 if this information is helpful . I have received a new bill from new county. This is why I received a refund for the 2012 taxes I paid [redacted] County, per email from [redacted] on May 14, 2013. I also received a message from [redacted] on May 13, 2013, stating when she pulled records from the DMV that the 2002 Nissan was no longer in my name and that it showed my new county I moved into with just the 2009 Toyota. [redacted] County found out this information when I questioned the billing for 2012 and 2013, but still said 2002 Nissan was in my name as dated in email I have from [redacted] dated 05/02/13.

So as you can see the issue is the filing of the 2002 Nissan I traded in and not if I have moved and taken care of that. This is not the issue I am filing a complaint about.

I wrote a letter to Kern Toyota beginning of May 2013 with no response and made several phone calls that resolved nothing. It is the beginning of July and I do not have internet access at the present time or access to a phone till the end of July beginning of August.

I feel that the real issue is not being addressed. Sorry they have never had a complaint but if my complaint would have been resolved by the number of phone calls or letter. I would not have had to file a complaint.

My parents are typing this for me since I am not available at this time.

Last name is spelled [redacted]. Thank you for your immediate attention to the issue.
