Most orders over $receive free shipping However due to some items being oversize we must add a shipping charge This is noted in the Customer Service page of our website and on the individual item’s page In this case, The Longacre Scale sPlaten This shipment included separate packages and weighed a total of lbs Clearly not an item that can be shipped for free This order was retrieved from our e-commerce site the morning of Mar When we receive an order for an item that does not qualify for free shipping we calculate the shipping and e-mail this to the customer for their approval There are never any charges made to a customer’s credit card until we receive their approval and the item has shipped The “receipt” to which Mr [redacted] refers is in fact an order confirmation and not a receipt Here is the exact e-mail sent to Mr [redacted] : “Thank you for your recent order with Racer Parts Wholesale! The Longacre Scale Platen Setup ships directly from Longacre Shipping to your shop will be $224.05, bringing your order total to $ It will ship within a day and will take about a week to get to you Please advise if you approve these charges and would like to proceed with your order.” As you can see the e-mail does not state that “we will not ship unless you pay the extra dollars in shipping charges” It simply states that this item has a shipping charge, shows the shipping charge and total charge, and politely asks if we should proceed with the order As I’ve noted above, and as Amy explained to Mr [redacted] several times on the phone, our website clearly indicates additional charges may (and did) apply to this item I was in the office while Amy was on the phone with Mr [redacted] At no time did she ever tell him “too bad either pay the shipping cost or we cancel the order” She was extremely patient and professional the entire time If you have any questions please feel free to contact myself or Amy Regards, Jack B [redacted] Racer Parts Wholesale jb***@racerpartswholesale.com www.racerpartswholesale.com 317-639-

I ignored did not think anyone would be so stupid to ship me a product after the phone call and sending me this e-mail
so here is my response

We were originally informed of a leak issue at this property in late April and have checked for repaired leak per the customers request on occasionsThe end of May we were able to confirm that the flow dial on the meter is no longer turning and an adjustment was submitted for this
customer. There are other circumstances that have impacted the water service at this property that could be cleared up with communication between the customer and SWS
We look forward to a quick resolution,

The construction crew initially planned to pour the concrete driveway at in one day. The customer did not want to
have to park on the street, so the concrete was poured in two sectionsDue to rain and other work, it was approximately two weeks before the second section was poured When *** *** called and spoke with the crew’s Coordinator he was told that the work would be completed by April 8th, and I have confirmed with the Collection And Distribution Construction Manager that the work on *** *** driveway was completed on Monday, April 8th

In this day and age you should have programing of a receipt to include shipping charges. It is 2016 not 2010 where web issues like, I can not get proper programming might be acceptable excuse but it not.
If you decide to save money but not having a fully functioning web site it should not be the the customer that is forced to bear that burden
 
Since I had a finalized receipt I quoted the customer the price, now I have to go back to the customer and change his invoice. After giving him a different quote based on the information the receipt provided.
 
The next day when I called the company we had a very contentious loud and angry conversation, in which I requested a manager a few times. Was assured that she was the manager and nobody else was there.
It was a pointless conversation as they made the mistake and were stuffing me with the over charges. I find it very funny that the first response indicated that a higher level manager was listening to the conversation.
She asked me if I wanted them to ship it my response was "ya your screwing me". The phone conversation ended badly with me screaming and cursing and slamming down the phone. The tone of the phone conversation did not match the response written to you from RPW, and there was an attitude on her part which was one of the reasons why I wanted a manager. She was a useless gate keeper just paid to say no.
 
Later that day I got an e-mail.
 
Just to confirm our phone conversation, the shipping charges on your order are $224.05, for a total of $2560.05.  Please confirm that you approve these
charges and agree to proceed with the order.   A copy of your final order is
attached.

I never responded I made the assumption that they would not ship unless I confirmed this e-mail.
 
Please confirm that you approve these
charges and agree to proceed with the order.
 
Means to me that unless I respond we are not going to ship. At this point I would pay more and buy from anyone else.
Since they were tying up my money I had to make other arrangements to purchase it from a reputable company that did not play games. I had found two that offered free shipping on the same item that I had wanted to purchase from RPW.
 
So some time passes and I get a text from my client stating the order showed up. So I checked with my CC company and instead of issuing a refund because I never responded to confirm that I wanted it they billed me for shipping. So at that point I filed a complaint with my CC that I never finalized the order. I have disputed the shipping charges.
 
So I am not happy about it, looks like fraud and deceptive business practice. And I plan to mention this to every racer I know.

I had not notification that the $300 bill had been adjusted at all. I only have 1 check that did not clear my [redacted] bank account, the other check I wrote for $150 was never turned into my bank, it was just returned back to me, because the money was in the bank. I went 2 1/2 months with out water and when the water bill normally ran $30 a month that is $90 and I do have my bank statement and receipts to show I have made several cash payment on my account since January.

As you can see the e-mail does not state that “we will not ship unless you pay the extra 224 dollars in shipping charges”.  It simply states that this item has a shipping charge, shows the shipping charge and total charge, and politely asks if we should proceed with the order.
 
As I’ve noted above, and as Amy explained to Mr. [redacted] several times on the phone, our website clearly indicates additional charges may (and did) apply to this item. 
 
I was in the office while Amy was on the phone with Mr. [redacted].  At no time did she ever tell him “too bad either pay the shipping cost or we cancel the order”.  She was extremely patient and professional the entire time.
