So normally when I go here the food is great, and the vibe is nice because it's nice tables outsideHowever, on Sunday me and a friend went at 3:There were about three tables of empty outsideWe were told by the hostess that since brunch was ending at 4:00, if we sat and ate at 4:00, we would have to "give up our table at four." Excuse me? Last time I checked how are you going to ask your customers to leave after minutes....and tell them that the need the table? For what? Everyone's coming to have dinner and drinks at 4:00? And it should not matter, cause we would be there at still eating and still ordering drinks...We would have gotten a pitcher.We would have gotten a mealTheir service is rude, and it's outrageous to put strange requirements for seating like the one imposed on usMajor turn off, never again

Review: Went here for a birthday celebration. We were told over the phone that it would cost a flat fee of $400 for three bottles of alcohol, taxes and gratuity. When we arrived, we were informed that it would cost us $495 for the same thing. We agreed, they brought us the three bottles.45 minutes later, the waitress returned with a bill for $519. I gave her two credit cards and told her to split the balance between the two cards. I did not want to argue over $24. I looked over the bill and I was being charged for the three bottles, taxes and a gratuity. 30 minutes later, she returned with the two cards asking for identification. I gave her the two drivers licenses. 20 minutes after that, she returned with the two cards, two driver's licenses and no check. She said both cards were declined,I told her that was impossible. I asked how much was charged to them and she said "$633 or something like that". I told her the bill was $519 and asked her to show me the bill again, she said she didn't have it anymore. I requested that she return my cards and bring me a copy of the original bill immediately. She said she would bring me a new copy and the manager. She then returned with two security guards and had the men in my party removed from the building, saying they were causing her trouble. I waited for the manager, who never came. I went outside and saw my group trying explain the situation to an officer. Finally the manager showed up and I explained the situation. His response was "Well, how much do you want to pay?". I told him I wanted to see a copy of the bill and that I wanted to pay the amount we were originally quoted. He told me that he has nothing to do with what the people told us over the phone or what we were originally quoted when we arrived and that if I didn't pay the $633 he would have me arrested. I asked again to SEE the check and he refused. He agreed to charge $519 after arguing with me for 30 minutes but still refused to show me a copy of the bill. I paid to avoid being arrested.Desired Settlement: This experience was completely unacceptable and I would like to refunded and for this horrible experience. We did not even finish what we ordered. I was berated by the manager who told us that we were too poor to pay and just looking for something for free, when in actuality, we had the money, we just wanted to SEE what we were being charged for because we were told so many different amounts. I would also hate to see this happen to anyone else.

[redacted] has falsely represented the incident that occurred at Mamajuana Cafe on November *, 2013. [redacted] and her party were billed correctly for the services that evening which was $400 plus NYS sales tax and a 15% gratuity charge as it clearly states on our bottle menu.

[redacted] and members of her party were inebriated and refused to pay for the bill; they stated they were incorrectly charged. We explained the bill in detail and one member of her party proceeded to use profanity and got physical with the manager, security was forced to remove the inebriated patron and [redacted] stayed inside with another female acquaintance. [redacted], after reviewing the bill, paid the bill with two different credit cards, one was processed and approved for 1/2 the amount and the other one was declined for the remaining 1/2 - the declined card belonged to [redacted].

[redacted] did not want to pay the remaining balance and was clearly told that local authorities would be called for "theft of services" as the services were rendered, the product consumed and we just wanted to be paid for the services. At no point in time did anyone ever mention to [redacted] about "being poor" - we repeatedly explained to her that she must pay for the product consumed in the venue and that we do NOT give product away for free. She was loud, irate and verbally abusive to the staff.

Unfortunately we have seen this before with Patrons that do not do well with alcohol and over drink. [redacted] was drunk and several members of her party also were inebriated, as mentioned two of them were removed from the premises for the safety of our staff and patrons. We provide a great environment, a safe environment and an experiential venue for our patrons. We are clear with our pricing both in written menus given to our guests as well verbally confirmed to our guest by our waitresses.

[redacted] actions, verbal abuse, and drunk behavior combined with the actual true facts that she consumed the alcohol billed, all make for her desired settlement inappropriate and unconditionally denied.
