clogged and there was a bad smell in the basementWe got there and snaked to sewer, flushed the sewer and then camera the sewerThis was a warranty contract job and she authorized us the do the work with the assumption that the insurance company would pay for itWe found that the reason she had smell issues is because her house doesn’t have a house trapShe paid us her $deductibleWe didn’t charge extra for off hour workWhen we came back to the office and called the warranty company and found that they didn’t cover the camera workI called Ms*** to tell her she was responsible for the $camera workShe said she didn’t authorize the job, which she did, and that she wasn’t payingShe did want us to come back out to do other warranty work but we said that if she wasn’t paying for the camera work that we weren’t going to work for her againThen she stopped payment on the $deductible check.I called the warranty company to see if they could do anything about that and they told me to bill her times within a month and they would look into what they could do for usSo when she got the first bill she made the complaintWe were willing to except the $100, she had no right to stop payment on it, we did the work we were sent there to do.Rick S*** OwnerBrookline Plumber

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.As stated in my original complaint below, this service call was dispatched on a warranty claim. This contractor did not receive any authorization from myself, the client, nor the warranty company to proceed with any work at the residence. No written contract acknowledging the work order was ever signed. When a contractor is dispatched on a warranty claim, it is the contractor's responsibility to communicate the claim problem with the warranty company BEFORE ANY WORK BE PERFORMED. The warranty company then decides to approve or deny the claim and only once an approval is given, authorize any work to be performed. The contractor did not do this.  Therefore, this invoice will not be paid by the client.  I advise the contractor to continue to take their mistake up with the warranty company as I will not be held responsible for any remittance of this invoice. The company referenced above was dispatched on a home warranty claim to my residence for a plumbing issue. Contractor did not provide me with a diagnosis to the problem. Contractor did not receive any authorization from me to camera the sewer. I did not sign off on any work order or contract authorizing any work to be performed. Contractor is now sending me an invoice for services that were never authorized and will not be covered through the warranty claim. Contractor was fully aware camera services WOULD NOT be covered under the warranty claim and took it upon himself to perform that task without any authorization from me, the client.
