concrete patio installed [redacted] got frostheave in winter, flooding basement cannot get guy back to fix.Patio was installed in late [redacted], early [redacted] 2014 for a cost of [redacted] Payment History:[redacted] pd [redacted] deposit[redacted] pd [redacted] pd [redacted] called [redacted] and left voicemail letting him know that we were getting water in the basement ever since we had the patio done. This started happening once the weather got cold. We did not any problems in the summer or spring. [redacted] called [redacted] and left a voicemail for him.[redacted] X:XX Flooded basement. The water went from the bulkhead all the way to the door to go into the finished basement. We had to use a shop vac to get all the water out. We had to do this several times as it poured all day. Called and spoke with [redacted] (man around the house) regarding the patio. He said he would call me on [redacted] called [redacted] and spoke with him. He stated he would be at the house today. [redacted] showed up at [redacted] pm. Said we had frost heaves from the cold and the patio rose and that is causing the water to build up with nowhere to go but in the bulkhead. He said he can cut away about three inches from the bulkhead to give the water somewhere to flow. He stated that he had to bring his saw to get repaired and was planning on dropping it off for repair on [redacted] He said he would fix issue as soon as he could. In the meantime, he told us to pick up some sandbags.[redacted] called and spoke with [redacted] wife. She took the message and said she would have [redacted] call back. [redacted] gave her my cell number as he was in jury duty. [redacted] did not call my cell phone but sent one of his workers to the house to correct the issue. The man said to Scott "hope the saw starts", leading me to believe that it was never dropped off for repair. The man tried to cut the concrete for 30 minutes and could not do it. He stated that it was too thick and he needed another saw and some other tools. Wouldn't be able to fix the issue today. [redacted] told him to let [redacted] know that we want it done ASAP.[redacted] Have not heard back from [redacted]. We have had some pretty big snowstorms in February. Luckily, it has not started to melt as of yet.[redacted] Called and left message on machine for [redacted]. Said I would like a phone call back with a date and time that the patio will be fixed. I went downstairs to check for water and there was some. I used the shop vac to clean it up. I also took pictures (see phone).[redacted] X:XX [redacted] called and left message on machine for [redacted] to call him back to have the patio fixed. [redacted] Went onto manaroundthehousene.com website and sent an email to [redacted] asking when our patio was going to be fixed. Mentioned that he never showed back up and has not returned our calls. Told him to call [redacted]. [redacted] called [redacted] and asked him if the snow was gone from the patio. [redacted] told him yes. [redacted] said he would be over next week to cut the patio.[redacted] never showed up.[redacted] Emailed [redacted] again. Let him know we were still waiting for him as he never showed up like he was supposed to. Never heard back from him.[redacted] called [redacted] and left another message. Left my house trashed and damaged almost everything they attempted to do. In addition they collected over 80% of the agreed price and abandone the jobAfter we had a contract with terms of what work would be done, the owner and his crew decided to up in leave in the middle of the job after already being paid over 80% of the agreed price. They left my house trashed , pluming half done , electrical wires hanging out, walls left gutted. They damaged my brand new kitchen cabinets while hanging them, clogged my pluming in the basement by dumping grout mix in the sink. Water damage in the basement from the water of tile saw they used upstairs in the closet. They left a dump truck load of trash sitting in my backyard. Desired SettlementI had to hire another crew to come fish the job. I am looking to get at minimum half of the what I already paid them to cover some of the cost I had to put out to finish the work. Business Response We disagree with the statement made by Mr.[redacted]. He and constantly increased the scope of work but refused to pay extra for the work. We left the job because he said he would hire someone else to finish the job. The quality of work we did on the job was high considering the quality of materials that Mr. [redacted] bought was low. As for trash being left behind, we took out two dump truck loads of debris from this home. Any debris he is referring to was left by another contractor. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)This is a complete lie by the contractor. I never increased the scope of the work as he claims nor did the contractor perform any work that was not included in the original contract that was created and agreed to by both parties, also to note in the contract there was suppose to be a doorway created in the basement to allow access from the garage that was never started.. In addition the materials per the contract was to be provided by the contractor other than the flooring and which was picked out with the owner of the company per his recommendation. The debris that the contractor claims was left by another contractor is false, this was left by his crew and I have text messages from [redacted] stating they would be coming back to pick it up.
