On Tuesday 10/18/at 5:29pm I made ONE single attempt to purchase gas at the pump with my credit/debit card, and it charged my card TWICE at $a piece, all while never allowing me to pump any gas, and I have STILL not been able to get the $that is still being "held" (days later) from my account because my financial institution has said that the only way it can be released is if the manager of the gas station has the merchant "expire" the transactions (even though I myself only made/attempted to make ONE transaction) because the transaction was never finalized I have been back to the gas station times, and I have spoken to them on the phone just as many times, and not only will no one help me as they all put their hands up immediately and claim they have nothing to do with this and that my money will go back into my account in 24-hours (it hasn't, and it won't according to my financial institution, due to this merchant's policy that the funds will be held for DAYS b

Review: I originally emailed this company on 7/**/15 to book a move for 9/*/15. Within the contents of the email I listed very clearly how many items needed to be moved and where they were being delivered. The person responsible for booking never indicated that perhaps a larger sized truck would be necessary. on 9/*/15 the movers arrived at the pick up location with a small sized van that they later informed me after wasting an hour standing outside that they would not be able to accommodate all my things. after leaving 1 major piece of furniture at the pick up location the movers assured me they would come later that evening or the next day to pick up the furniture and deliver it where it needed to go. It's 5 days later and theres no response or follow up with me in regards to the delivery of the furniture. I am very disappointed in how the company chose to handle this issue and they should not be allowed to offer services with such terrible customer service. after doing a bit a research on this company several other people have reviewed about similar situations with this company. I thought I was booking manwithavan.com which in fact yelp rerouted me to manwithavan.net. an unfortunate error that cost me more then what was necessary in multiple facets. I want this company shut down. I paid the men for their services completed on 9/*/15. Their lack of considerate and business ethic to finish the job they told me they were going to do has left me inconvenienced, annoyed, and stressed financially and emotionally. One of the movers even called me on my cell phone while we were in route to the new location and asked if I was mad at them. I felt manipulated antagonized and harassed by the inappropriateness of their services.Desired Settlement: I want a refund of $425 (which is what the company charged me for the 9/*/15 move) or $400 reimbursement for all the inconvenience they ensued on me and to cover costs of the piece of furniture being delivered by an alternate method.

Review: I think this business is the vey definition of incompetency. My move was scheduled for 2 pm on July **. Although the mover reassured me he would be "on time," I receive a call over an hour later saying that he was in Queens (even though my address is in [redacted]). After assuring me he was on his way, he shows up another two hours after that. First, he asks me if I have tape. Then, he asks me if I have zip lock bags. And a few minutes later, he asks if I have a screw driver. I'm not really sure how he expected to move anything with absolutely no tools.

The move takes way longer than anticipated. I had a queen bed and mattress, a small bookshelf, a night stand, and a dresser. After disassembling the furniture in a rather haphazard way (I didn't have a screw driver, and there was a lot of banging) and loading it into the van, the movers disappear for OVER AN HOUR. Even though the new place I was moving into is a little over a mile away (a four minute drive according to [redacted]), the movers are nowhere to be found and stop responding to calls and texts. After they finally show up, the assembly is done with about as much care as taking out garbage. The movers finally finish close to 9 pm, and don't even bother shoving the drawers into the dresser. When we point this out to them, they take another 15 minutes and try to accuse me of having defective drawers in the first place. They finally finish the with the drawers (surprise, they actually fit in the dresser), and then try to charge me overtime because the move took so long.

Because the furniture is scratched and chipped (even though their website advertised "wrapping" for all the moving, the very unprepared movers obviously didn't wrap anything), they promised to send a foreman to fix it. They assure me the foreman will come on Sunday and give me a call. At the end of the day Sunday, the foreman is nowhere to be found and they offer to reschedule for next Saturday at noon. At 2 pm next Saturday, I call and email them multiple times and they apologize saying the "[redacted]" with something in the morning. After promising to reschedule, they stop responding entirely. I have pinged them three times asking for a reschedule. I have no received a single response. Their voice mail is constantly full, so I can't leave phone messages, and since they have my money, they obviously don't feel the need to respond to emails. I'm at a loss as to what to do. Please help.Desired Settlement: I want a refund for my move. I am sick of dealing with the non-existent foreman, the unresponsive customer service, and this terrible moving company.

Review: Man with a Van failed to fulfill our moving contract in September 2013. Man With a Van company had agreed to move me on the dates and times agreed to through contract, leaving me unable to move on time and ended up costing me $385 in additional rent while I secured a new company.

We had agreed to a contract to me move my belongings from [redacted] in Manhattan to [redacted] Brooklyn for an estimated $252 on 9/*/13. The truck booked for my move was unavailable for reasons completely unrelated to me and while the company sent an alternate crew, they were unable to make it happen, left and never returned. Customer service promised repeatedly "We will not leave you hanging" but did not respond to emails or calls after a 11:12pm that night and did not provide any form of repayment or alternate move options. They concluded that they needed to reschedule but never followed up with the proper means to. Therefore, I find Man with a Van in breach of the agreed-to contract and am requesting compensation for the $385 additional fees that I incurred.Desired Settlement: Because Man with a Van breached their moving contract with me, I am requesting compensation for the $385 additional fees that I incurred.

Review: I reserved Man with a Van to move me on September *, 2013. I received a confirmation ([redacted]) on August **, 2013. I called the day prior to the move, Sept *, just for verbal confirmation one more time. I was sent to voicemail two times. I sent an email later that evening to again confirm the move. On Sept *, the day of the scheduled move, I arrived a half hour prior to the movers scheduled arrival (8:30 a.m.) in the Bronx. 8:30 came and went. I called, got voicemaiil again, and left a message. They never came. At 9:05 a.m. I called again but no answer. At this point I told them I was going to look for an alternative as I needed to move. Never throughout the entire day did I receive a call or an email from Man with a Van. They are absolutely awful and completely screwed up my move as I am moving into a coop with strict rules on move in/move out times/policies. I would never recommend them to anyone. A move is already a stressful situation with many moving parts. That Man with a Van couldn't care less is abhorrent.Desired Settlement: Never do this again to anyone else.

Sincerely,

Review: I called them to move a sofa for me. They were courteous and professional on the phone, and gave me a confirmation number. However, on the day of the move, they didn't show up to do the job, or call to explain why they weren't available. They also didn't answer the phone on the day of the move. Later, they emailed me, saying: "They should have arrived. I will call you shortly."

However, they never called.Desired Settlement: They should do the following:

1. Call the day of to confirm they will be doing the work

2. Call if there are problems with delivering service

3. Call when they say they will call.

Review: Movers never showed up and refused to answer the phone despite multiple attempts.Desired Settlement: They need to cover the amount of our move with the new mover.
