The most poorly managed company I've ever dealt with I hired Manasota Flooring on Stin Bradenton to remove and replace wall to wall carpet in my retail store The salesman Bob B*** came to my business three times- to measure, bid and collect a deposit Each time he measured the rectangular space and assured me the job was easy and could be done in a day It was important to have it done in one day to prevent disruption of the daily operation I removed all the furniture and fixtures to make the job even easier for them The installers showed up with no work order and had no idea what was to be done I was able to convince them to call Bob after a lengthy discussion about who's responsibility it was to know what to do The first crew left and a second crew came with Bob He seemed to be able to convey what needed to be done and left At 2:in the afternoon, hour before the job was to be completed, the installer informed me that they were short material and couldn't finish the job! How could you be short? It's a rectangular room that was measured three times! The installer called Bob to inform him of the shortage I heard nothing from Bob I called him, he said if the carpet was available they'd be back the next day I was unable to move all the fixtures back into place and unable to restock the store for business No one came the next days and no one called from Manasota Flooring to give me updates I called several times, speaking to the installer, the dispatcher of crews and finally a woman in the office who told me the carpet would not be finished until days after the job was scheduled to be done The installers finally finished the job and I waited to hear from Bob or anyone at Manasota Flooring about the poor performance and perhaps some compensation for it and my aggravation I heard nothing for over a month Salesman Bob then showed up at my store to collect a check for the balance of the job I told him if he wanted to get paid he should send the owner of the company over so I could give him/her a review of his company's performance Chris Q*** called and identified himself as a Manager After I told him what happened and he rambled at length about his company's effort to be competent What company doesn't try to be good? Why would a customer who got terrible service want to hear that? Does that fix the problem? No
week later the owner of the building I lease my store from told me that Manasota Flooring was threatening to put a lien on the property Unbelievable! After the owner of the building called Manasota Flooring to rip them for their stupid threat, Chris showed up in person at my store demanding payment I told him they should offer me something for my trouble His response was that they weren't going to charge me for the extra carpet they needed to finish the job He claimed that it cost $more in material to complete the jobThe total contract was $ If you assume the materials were half the cost of the job and labor was the other half, that would mean his salesman was almost 50% off in his bid How could that be when the competitive bid I got was $less than Manasota's bid? I chose Manasota over the other company because they are located less than mile from my business I think it's important to spend money in your own neighborhood I will never recommend anyone spend a dime with these is I paid the balance to keep the owner of my building from having to deal with these clowns, he doesn't deserve the hassle I will also be sure to share my experience with the thousands of people that frequent my business

During the construction of a new home, we selected a backsplash tile from Manasota Flooring in Tampa, FL We brought samples of granite and cabinetry to match to an appropriate tile We selected a sample called "White Onyx" which was basically an off-white color with a hint of gold in a 4"x4" square At this meeting we were NEVER informed there would be ANY variation or additions to color such as orange, brown, amber, yellow, etc We also were told that the grout lines would be so thin as to be virtually invisible This backsplash was installed in our new construction during the week beginning September 25, We first saw this backsplash on September 30, and were absolutely APPALLED by the color...nothing but dark colors in amber, brown, gray There was hardly any "white onyx" tiles to be seen and the grout lines were HUGEUpon notifying our builder that the tile was incorrect and not what we ordered or expected, we chose another tile, this time from the builders desig

Carpet months old that is falling apart with refusal to replace unless paid for by the consumer
Built a brand new house with WestBay homesCarpet installed was construction grade garbage with no threshold dividers to differentiate between carpet and tileMetal thresholds installed with all carpet now deteriorating especially in my year old daughter's roomMultiple puncture wounds to my daughter's feet from the tack stripsBoth the manager Shane and the owner of the company agreed to cover the labor to replace the carpet at my expenseI got two options from the companyuse carpet from my daughter's closet to piece together the threshold or replace it entirely

Shoddy work
Three weeks after we closed on a brand new home on March 7th, 2018, the shower floor tiles in of our bathrooms were soft and started to pop up while the grout was also starting to crackWe contacted the warranty department of Homes by West Bay and they sent Manasota Flooring to repair, since they originally installed our showersWe had to undergo many arguments for them to finally decide to fix both shower floorsThey broke apart the floor and took weeks to finally come back and put the floor back togetherThey left a wide grout line in one of the bathrooms and the color of the first row of tiles in the other bathroom did not match the rest, so I complained about the problemsAfter a few months, both shower floor grouts started to crack again and the floor became soft againManasota Flooring came for the 2nd time and said they were going to replace the floor tiles of one of the bathrooms but were not going to fix the bathroom with the tiles that did not match in

Employs contractors not licensed with the state of florida to install paver patios
I hired Jonathon ***, an employee of Manasota Flooring Inc to install a paver patio at my home
He incorrectly installed the patio causing it to fall apart within a week of installation
Bob at Manasota Flooring sent someone to look at it but then said that Mr*** did not work for them
I have recently been advised that Mr*** is not licensed in the state of florida to do paver installation

The tile was not laid properly & the grout was not what I picked out and they won't do anything about it The store manager came to my house and was very condescending! Told me it was laid right & that the grout was what I picked out He was very rude I would not recommend that store to my worst enemy!

I purchased carpet from mansota carpet Bradenton in February The installer did a horrible jobDamaged my furniture, walls, and carpet in another room Tied drapes in knots Mansota gave me cleaner to clean the carpet in other roomWould not do anything about damaged furniture or repair walls Would NOT recommend them for any flooring

On 4/28/I ordered glass back splash for our kitchen.I had been very happy with the help in selecting this and the measurements were taken and order processed after that things went downhill!
The day the glass was to be installed nobody showed up so by noon I called placed calls to store salesman no one returned my call. Finally about 4:i reached the warehouse and was told person that was to do work returned to job from day before and didn't notify anyone
the next day someone came and had difficulty finding where the product was and they had apparently never done glass so things were not all good and when asked to finish around window said they couldn't
but didn't say why they also didn't have the grout. They left and returned right away to say they had beige grout would that be OK and I said no it was to be gray.Next day they showed up to do grout and since I had said I didn't look at it until they were gone it was white and looked bad so called salesman .To shorten story I was

The WORST service experience of my life I highly recommend going elsewhere
Sales
Sam said my SF job would be $and completed in week, maybe I felt the price was really high, but my schedule was limited and they were rated high on Angie's list plus being a 40+ year old family business who said they could get it done quickly Sam also said it would be dusty but many people stay in their home while this work is done I have since learned it takes about week per SF (so he should have said 3+ weeks) and "dusty" really meant a decimation of all my belongings
After the tile tear-out they "discovered" the floor was uneven and needed to be mudded So without any forewarning of this possibility and Sam saying "this hardly ever happens" gave me an additional invoice for $ Nicely played as how could the Customer say no?
So Sam's promise of a 1+ week job ended up taking weeks and a day Now I do accept it the work itself is harsh and messy, but not being told the degree of it is lying by omission Had I known these things, I would have had the chance to use a storage facility for my furniture and set up an extended stay hotel during the weeks I felt I could get through 7-days but was not ready for
Service
It is hard to articulate the level of incompetency of their work crews, so I have listed some of their most astoundingly bad outcomes After they fired the first two work crews, starting on week 4, a third crew (who were actually skilled) came into a job with 40% of the new tile installed and needed days to fix all of the prior issues (uneven tiles and gaps)
This was gross negligence on the part of Manasota Flooring as they did not manage their subcontractor who then hired other subcontractors As none of these "crews" were not screened, the type of people occupying my house were the worst, so these events were foreseeable by Manasota Flooring While I reported these and more, nothing ever happened:
- Taking things from my food pantry and bar and then trying to hide it
- Removed all of the toilets in the house at once and then realizing the obvious, they solved it by urinating in a toilet they removed and placed inside the shower
- Sitting around about 50% of the time and had enough time to draw a detailed picture of a rabbit on one of the tiles (too bad I can't attach a photo, it had a lot of nice detail in it)
- Not having their truck working for weeks so they fill my garage with debris and dust
- Failing to cover anything in the house after instructed to do so (which ruined a lot of my personal belongings)
- Moving a wine refrigerator but not realizing a "refrigerator" should be plugged in at all times
- Actually failed at every commitment they made to me each morning about a specific area to be addressed
- Not following HOA rules resulting in police report being filed on them for leaving after 6pm as they didn't have a ride and had to walk out and another situation whereby I got a warning notice because their truck had broken down and they were attempting to fix on the side of the road within the County Club
So imagine paying $30K plus remediation costs to live a decimated house with these characters for straight days
During week of the job, I escalated the situation to their GM (Chris Q) I gave him the chance to make it right, but after meeting him twice and providing a page write up with photos, he has a pattern of saying he apologizes but then starts rationalizing and deflecting all of their mistakes
Manasota Flooring has been a longstanding family-owned business in our area, but Chris is their son-in-law and Sunbiz indicates he does not have any ownership Therefore, it is my view is that this second generation does not deserve their long standing reputation nor does Chris have the acumen or accountability required for me to ever risk doing business with him again

We purchased a new home years ago through West Bay Homes and have had issues with our first floor laminate flooring since it was installedWe have had parts of the floor replaced and continued to have issuesRecently we had a warranty walk through our house and pointed out again the issues with the floor buckling and bubbling at the jointsA representative from Manasota Flooring (Shaw floor representative) came to our house to inspect the floor and saw the damageThey are now doing nothing with our floor because they State it is water damage even though the damage is in several rooms where there has never been waterThey installed the floor incorrectly and are now trying to get out of replacing itWest Bay Homes isn't being cooperative either so now we are stuck with a damaged floor that needs fixing/replacing that is just years old
Product_Or_Service: New Home

I contracted with the Manasota Flooring in Venice on January 6th to have carpeting/tile removed from a family room and bedroomsReplacing this was a Quick Step product laminate flooringSince I have limited space in my house and a husband with mobility issues, I had to do this job in phasesThe first phase was the family room and that went wellThe second phase was the Master bedroom and it looks great EXCEPT for a missing transition strip by the doorI was told by the salesman that the strip would be taken care of with the last phase - the spare bedroomsThat didn't happenUnfortunately, I had to be elsewhere and my husband was home for that phaseAlso unfortunately, he gave the installers the final paymentThis entire project was done in week spaces - all in February
Add to this, I was contacted by their facilitator on Thursday March 16th and told that they would get out and finish my job the following day - just could not give me a timeSo I cleared my calendar totally and stayed home all day and eveningNo one showed up nor did I get a callI contacted my salesman Saturday morning and again today - still with no resultsI am still hanging in limbo and this is for a small strip of product less than inches longI can only imagine what I would go through if there was an issue and I needed further service
Stating that I am very upset is an understatementI have been strung along on a job that cost $9,(paid in full) and I moved the majority of the furniture in order to helpThere is no good excuse for having this issue go on like thisI am happy with the product but very unhappy with the serviceI am going to give this company until the end of the week to clear this upIf I do not get some kind of resolution, I will take further action
If the company truly cares about it's reputation, then I would suggest getting on the stick and finish the jobI am tired of the buck being passed and no satisfactory resolution

Manasota Flooring was contracted to replace the carpet in one room with tile and old carpet with new carpet in the other rooms. One reason we picked Manasota Flooring over the other quotes we received was we were led to believe that the installers were their employees under their control. The tile was scheduled for installation on 12/17/15 between 8 and 10:30. Not only were they not here by 10:30 but we had to call them to find out where they were. They said they would be here between 12pm and 2pm. When no one was here by 3pm we called again. At 3:44 the installer, who was a subcontractor, called and said no one told him about the installation and he could not reschedule until the following Tuesday, 12/22. Any other time of year we would have been annoyed but we had a Christmas party scheduled, in part to show off our new tile, which we had to cancel because we have an open floorplan and the built-in bookcases we had to take apart to install the tile were just cumbersome to put back together then take apart again. When the installer arrived on Tuesday the 22nd, he informed us that he had family in from town and would not be able to grout the tile until the Monday after Christmas, the 28th! Since we could not put the furniture and built-in bookcases back on the tile until two days after it was grouted, we had to move our Christmas celebration as well! After all this they called and asked us to pay the second half of what we owed them, BEFORE they started the carpet install! Needless to say we told them we would not pay until carpet installation was completed to our satisfaction. We also told them we expected a discount for the aggravation and misunderstanding with the tile job. The carpet installation guys (also subcontractors) arrived on time but one guy hurt his knee and left around noon. The full cost of the job was around $5500 on which they gave us a 10% discount on the tile portion only, amounting to $158. We are satisfied with both installation jobs but the lack of communication and concern for the customer once they have your money would cause me to use someone else next time.

The most poorly managed company I've ever dealt with. I hired Manasota Flooring on 1 St. in Bradenton to remove and replace wall to wall carpet in my retail store. The salesman Bob B[redacted] came to my business three times- to measure, bid and collect a deposit. Each time he measured the rectangular space and assured me the job was easy and could be done in a day. It was important to have it done in one day to prevent disruption of the daily operation. I removed all the furniture and fixtures to make the job even easier for them. The installers showed up with no work order and had no idea what was to be done. I was able to convince them to call Bob after a lengthy discussion about who's responsibility it was to know what to do. The first crew left and a second crew came with Bob. He seemed to be able to convey what needed to be done and left. At 2:30 in the afternoon, 1 hour before the job was to be completed, the installer informed me that they were short material and couldn't finish the job! How could you be short? It's a rectangular room that was measured three times! The installer called Bob to inform him of the shortage. I heard nothing from Bob. I called him, he said if the carpet was available they'd be back the next day. I was unable to move all the fixtures back into place and unable to restock the store for business. No one came the next 3 days and no one called from Manasota Flooring to give me updates. I called several times, speaking to the installer, the dispatcher of crews and finally a woman in the office who told me the carpet would not be finished until 8 days after the job was scheduled to be done. The installers finally finished the job and I waited to hear from Bob or anyone at Manasota Flooring about the poor performance and perhaps some compensation for it and my aggravation. I heard nothing for over a month. Salesman Bob then showed up at my store to collect a check for the balance of the job. I told him if he wanted to get paid he should send the owner of the company over so I could give him/her a review of his company's performance. Chris Q[redacted] called and identified himself as a Manager. After I told him what happened and he rambled at length about his company's effort to be competent. What company doesn't try to be good? Why would a customer who got terrible service want to hear that? Does that fix the problem? No.
1 week later the owner of the building I lease my store from told me that Manasota Flooring was threatening to put a lien on the property. Unbelievable! After the owner of the building called Manasota Flooring to rip them for their stupid threat, Chris showed up in person at my store demanding payment. I told him they should offer me something for my trouble. His response was that they weren't going to charge me for the extra carpet they needed to finish the job. He claimed that it cost $500 more in material to complete the job. The total contract was $2125.00. If you assume the materials were half the cost of the job and labor was the other half, that would mean his salesman was almost 50% off in his bid. How could that be when the competitive bid I got was $50 less than Manasota's bid? I chose Manasota over the other company because they are located less than 1 mile from my business. I think it's important to spend money in your own neighborhood. I will never recommend anyone spend a dime with these is. I paid the balance to keep the owner of my building from having to deal with these clowns, he doesn't deserve the hassle. I will also be sure to share my experience with the thousands of people that frequent my business.
