Upon arriving at the customer’s house on November 8, 2017, my associate and I discovered that the upper and lower oven were completely dead. At which time we replaced the main board, covered by warranty.  This did not include a fuse that deemed the appliance non-functional.  Labor and...

service fee to such a job is $250 plus parts.  The service charge of $250 covers service, labor and additional personnel required for this service call.  Additional personnel were required due to the location and complex setup of the customer’s appliance. After completing the repairs on the upper oven, making upper oven fully functional and being able to power up both upper and lower oven, I discovered the lower oven was not heating up.  The fan needed to be replaced.  The parts would cost $340.  Due to the out of pocket costs of parts, the customer and I negotiated a lower service charge of $200.  [redacted] then approved the out of warranty parts.Once in route to the customer’s house, with an additional employee and all required parts to complete repairs on the lower oven, the customer cancelled the appointment, resulting in my company paying for additional employee and time lost in travel.I request that you take in consideration of above information and conclude that charges were fair and reasonable.  Thank you,Stephen ** G[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:Manassas Appliance Repair did not repair our oven.[redacted] fixed our oven in two short visits. The total cost of [redacted]'s efforts was $230. On their first visit, [redacted] diagnosed the problem to be either a defective or inappropriately installed control board (installed by Mr. G[redacted]). The control board was under warranty. On their second visit [redacted] installed a new control board and both top and bottom ovens worked correctly.By contrast, Mr. G[redacted] charged $320 for his first visit. This included the cost of a new fuse ([redacted] price $22, Mr. G[redacted]'s price $52), while the cost of the control board was covered by [redacted]. A second visit scheduled with Mr. G[redacted] would have cost another $250 for the service call and an additional $340 for a new fan and thermal sensor. These parts, of course, were proven by [redacted] to not be needed. After speaking to representatives of both [redacted] [redacted] and [redacted] about our experience with Mr. G[redacted] we were encouraged to both end our business relationship with him and file a complaint with the Revdex.com, which we have done. At [redacted]'s recommendation we employed [redacted].
Regards,
