Manchester Locksmith

Review: I found this company in the yellow pages when I was looking for a local locksmith. I called for a quote and was told $29 for travel and $35 to unlock the door. The locksmith that showed up was 30 minutes late, was in a personal vehicle from out of state, had no company ID, didn't offer his name and didn't ask me for any proof of residence before unlocking the door. He took one look at the door and said it would be $125 if he could jimmy it, plus another $20 if he had to drill out the lock. We had no choice, but to accept this inflated cost because we had to get in that day and would have been billed the $29 even if we changed our minds. Of course, after thirty seconds of trying other methods, he broke out the drill. Then after he had completely destroyed the lock in order to get in (something we could have done ourselves for free), he tried telling us the replacement lock we had bought wouldn't fit so we would buy one from him instead (this turned out to be another lie -- ours fit just fine). Then when he started to write up the bill he tried to mark up the cost again, but I noticed it and made him change it. It still ended up costing me over $185 for a job that I was quoted $64 to do. When I checked my credit card statement, it wasn't even billed from the local company I tried to hire. Instead the charge was billed to "Bob Locksmith" in Florida. The whole situation made me very uncomfortable and like I'd been taken advantage of. I plan to continue to watch my credit card statement carefully because I wouldn't be surprised if this shady company also sells my number to another group of thieves.

I would like to be credited the difference in cost between what I was quoted and what I was charged for their services ($117). I also wanted to make sure my story was recorded and made public so hopefully it can save someone else a similar expensive and humiliating experience.
