Mancino's of Connersville Reviews (%countItem)

I work around the corner from manico. Tuesday, Feb18th, I called, place my order & pick it up. The place is always so quiet & empty, I decided to eat my food there & finish my phone call. I was on the phone when the manager approached me, yelling in my face, snatching my receipt & my bag off the table, twice, telling me how I dont need to come back in the restaurant anymore if that is all I'm going to order. I was so confused at this point. I had to ask him what he was saying & what the problem was. He tells me that I dont need to order a kids meal if I dont have kids with me and I'm wasting his paper, receipt, time & business. As I tried to talk to him, he walks away yelling, walking fast back to the kitchen. I quickly grab my things to leave because I wasnt sure what he was going to do if I stayed there. As I'm walking toward the front, he is behind the counter, yelling, slamming down a menu telling me if I cant order off of that, then I cant eat there anymore. I was trying to tell him that when I called to place my order, I ask the lady on the phone if there was a smaller sandwich I could order and she said "yes,we have the kids sandwich, it just comes with a small drink & a cookie." I then ask her if I was allowed to order that & she said yes. Especially if I'm placing my order over the phone & I made it clear that I dont have a menu in front of me, how am I supposed to know that I cant order off the menu when 1 of their associates said I could. I ask for his name, he refused. I told him I would just call back & speak with the owner. He told me to go ahead because the owner is in ICU & he was the one in charge. If he would've talk to me calmly, professional & respectful, I could've told him all of this. I dont understand if it was such a big problem, why not tell me as I'm placing my order. Plus I had left a tip before he approached me yelling, making a scene. This man clearly has anger issues and is not professional at all. & to snatch my receipt & bag like that was uncalled for.

Mancino's of Connersville Response • Mar 09, 2020

This letter is in response to a customer complaint received on Feb 24, 2020 from the Revdex.com related to a customer service issue according to a customer occurring on Feb 18, 2020,
After speaking with and collecting information from 3 employees that were working on Feb 18, 2020, at 1:42pm, and by also watching the video surveillance I am able to report the employees' view of the incident portrayed by the customer.
An order for a Kids Meal $4.49 was placed for "pickup" on Feb 18, 2020 by above named customer. The employees recognized the customer after order was placed, as she has ordered the same kids meal several times in the past as a "pickup" order. She then proceeds to eat the meal in the restaurant.
On this occasion the employees recognized the same pattern as previous visits. Placed order for "Pickup" and proceeded to eat the kids meal in restaurant. The shift leader approached her table, and with the store menu, pointed out for future reference that kids meals are for children 10 yrs and under. The customer was not able to identify the "female" who supposedly told her she could order the kids meal when asked by the shift leader. Was told it was on a different visit that she was given the "OK." When customer asked for shift leaders name he supplied the information to her. At no time on the video did the shift leader "snatch the bag" or "receipt" from the table. Nor did the employees within close proximity show body language change as evidence that "yelling" was taking place. The video does show the customer throwing the "bag" away in the provided receptacle before leaving the restaurant.
In this case I believe my shift leader did as I would have done by showing the customer the menu, the age restrictions and by giving his name to the customer. The customer did receive the kids meal at the kids meal price of $4.49 plus tax, with her paying $4.80 for that meal on this particular day.
As the store owner I have yet to receive a call regarding this manner from the customer. The employees agree that they did not see an issue with the handling of this incident by the shift leader. I have only received the letter from the Revdex.com stating a complaint had been made by the customer.
