We received a notice sent via email on 6/7/in regards to the customer requestingvoluntary termination of enrollmentPlease see Included for a copy of the email sent, the companypolicy handbook, and signed waiver by the customer agreeing to our company’s policy.According to our company policy
handbook, “registration fees are not refundable and nontransferable.”(see page of Mandi’s Dance Studio Handbook), as well as, “In the event that you mustvoluntarily terminate your enrollment at the studio, we require a minimum notice of termination beforethe FIRST day of the monthAny classes that have already been paid for must then be used and CANNOTbe refundedYou are responsible for paying, In full, any past due balances and invoices before leavingthe studio.” (see page of Mandi’s Dance Studio Handbook)As this was a voluntary termination of enrollment, the policy then applies to her situation andwas enforcedDiscussion was made after the notice to attempt to resolve a possible issue, but thecustomer stated they are happy with the service they have been provided up until this point, and haveno reason for leaving for another facility, besides just wanting to try the other business’ servicesSeeingas the customer has not receiving unsatisfactory services, we have not failed to meet her expectations,therefore we will be following our policy handbook.Although our policy states tuition cannot be transferable, we made every attempted to give thecustomer other options to receive service for what she has already paid forThe classes she has paid forwill still be in session in September and she is still being offered to attend the month she has paid for.We also gave her the option to use the money towards a summer class or adjusting her Fall schedule touse the tuition that has already been paid forThe customer was non-responsive to any offer presentedand exited our facilityUpon exiting our facility, she began to slander our business in our parking lot toother customers.Our policy handbook is set forth to protect the business as well as the customersAs a reputablebusiness, we cannot bend the rules for one personThe policy is stated in multiple locations and waspresented to the customer before committing to enrollmentThe customer then signed the registrationwaiver on 04/27/agreeing to the payment policies set forth in the handbook(see included)Prepayment is reasonable in our line of business, due to preparation for class sizes, businessexpenses and employee hours and scheduleAs an educational facility for the performing arts, we takeour line of work seriously when it comes to the proper development of the studentThis takes manyhours of curriculum preparation and instructor training.Regards,Amanda B***Mandi’s Dance Studio
