Mango Motel

Review: Booked room was advertised as a one bedroom apartment with 3 large king size beds. Paid the rate of $370. Was given a standard room with 2 double beds but no refund. Called owner, he would not disclose his name. When I brought to his attention that his website advertised falsely; he then revised the website. However, he refused to give me the refund for the smaller room.Desired Settlement: Please refund the difference.

Review: When going to go book a room, we found the Mango Motel and booked it specifically due to the fact that it looked much nicer than any other place we were looking at. The picture showed a nice large kitchen, a clean up to date bathroom, two queen size beds with plenty of space to move around, a table for four in the kitchen, and also stated that we would get a nice view of the pool from our window. When we got there, [redacted] (the manager of the Mango Motel), charged us for the room before we even got the chance to look at it. When we booked the room, it was called a "Superior Deluxe Room", so being what we saw online and what the name of the room perceived itself to be, it was completely opposite. The room was right below a creaky disgusting drippy staircase, had a horrific smell of mold when you walked inside, and the room was big enough to sleep 2 people comfortably, not 4. There was no kitchen like promised, and instead there was a mini microwave and a sink not even big enough to wash a small dog in. The bathroom was so disgusting, with mold on the ceiling and flies flying all around everywhere. To top it all off, the view that we had was two beautiful blue toilets in between three overflowing garbage pails. [redacted] insisted that the room was exceptionally clean and the best room we would find, even though he did agree that it was not what we booked. After admitting he mislead us about our room, he refused to give us a refund. We stood outside while he begged us to take another room as we called different places, booking.com for a refund, and the Wildwood Chamber of Commerce, come to find out that they aren't even up to code and cannot be associated with the WCC. This place gave complete false advertising and [redacted] even admitted that it wasn't one of his best rooms. We are not picky, but for $185 a night, we deserve a room without mold and bugs. I would rather of slept in our car! Please save yourself the trouble and never bother with the Mango Motel.Desired Settlement: I want my credit card refunded for the amount charged. we did not stay and isn't fair to charge for a unfairly advertiser room that was full of mold and completely disgusting

Review: My daughter reserved two nights at the Mango for her prom weekend. She was charged a security deposit of $120 in addition to the cost of the room. She left to go home early and only stayed one night even though she paid for both. That was fine. She left by her own choice. The problem is the owner refused to refund the security deposit because he received summonses during the time period that the people from my daughter's school were there. She left her room in the same condition that she found it. He held the whole group from the school responsible instead of on an individual basis. He was nasty and rude on the phone to me when I called to ask who the room key should be returned to since he was no where to be found and the office was vacant and locked all day, and without knowing who my child was told me "thank God" when I said she left early. He took a cash deposit and said it would be returned via check. Phone calls have been made by several parents and no money has been returned.Desired Settlement: My daughter deserves to have her deposit refunded.
