I don't think the small claims court would be impressed by your business practicesI have, of course, all our email correspondence (on my home computer) to back up my statements PLUS the *** statement that shows that you charged my card the balance BEFORE installing my carpet.I look forward to hearing from you in mid DecemberI am sorry about the delay but you should have read my response to YOUR email right after installation and fixed the carpet on the days you offered and I agreed toAnd, of course, you should never have charged the balance (WITHOUT INFORMING ME, EITHER!) I explained, to Manhattan Carpet, in a previous email (of which you have a copy), that I am traveling until mid December However, the company left a phone message on November **, asking me to contact them
I emailed them again, telling them to reread my email and heard nothing for hours
I emailed again, using Sidekick, which allows me to see who opens my messages and whenI asked them to confirm that they had received my message Sidekick informed me that they opened my message within two minutes of my mailing it So it is clear that they open and read emailsThis time, they replied as follows "please inform us when you return so we can schedule and confirm repair date."
There was no apology for charging my card for the balance of the cost and installation of the carpet BEFORE installation I believe that charging my card for the balance was iLLEGAL because I was not informed and the work had not been completed
The credit card company has finalized cancellation of the payment of the balanceIf Revdex.com is interested in improving the services provided by businesses in NYC, they should publicize the fact that Manhattan Carpet and Flooring engages in SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICESWhen I return from my travels, I shall set up an appointment to get my carpet fixed When the job is done to my satisfaction, I shall pay the balance by check.
