a piece that had been used in a mannerAs David Stated it was working and then it wasn't. Joe called David to tell him the findings of the warranty reviewDavid was perplexed at firstHe then told Joe that his Father, power washed the engine and that must have been where the water came from John at Powermaster said he could repair the unit under the "repair program'It would be a cost of $Materials only (no labor or tax) and SShipping, for a total of $David declined the offerHe felt even though it was the direct result of the power washing that made the unit stop working, it should still be coveredOur policy as stated on his receipt is to follow the manufacturer's warranty guidelinesThat offer is what the manufacturer deemed. We do not owe MrJ*** a refundUnfortunately, his dad power washed an electrical part which cannot be doneWe empathize with himBut the offer given to him is very fair and still availableIf he wishes, he can pay the $He will have his unit repaired and sent to him. We are going in circles hereThe unit was brand newThe ONLY way the unit would get water in it, is by a "forcible means"Like power washing or being completely submerged in waterRegular weather CANNOT introduce water into the starterA starter is mounted UNDER the engineIt is completely sealedIn typical use, water splashes up from the road, when the vehicle is in rain or goes through puddles. I am rejecting this response because:Again the engine of my vehicle has never been power washed. This is what the business and Powermaster are trying to say. How do I know that when I purchased the starter that it was new and never used? If in fact water was in the starter this vehicle is out in the outside elements and if the starter was not sealed properly from the manufacture it could have possibly gotten water in it from the outside elements. The pictures from business and Powermaster do not validate that it was the starter I purchased. Even if the starter was working in the beginning, Starters do go bad and stop working and the business and manufacture should warranty the parts as they tell the consumer when they purchase the part that the are covered under a warranty. As far as the offer from the business and Powermaster to pay additional monies for a "LIKE NEW" starter, why would I pay more monies and possibly have the same issue of a faulty starter and have it not be covered under warranty .Once Again I am requesting a full refund as this situation is not at any fault of mine.
