Our *** ***, Mr, *** spoke to your *** Saturday April 15th and your *** agreed with everything our *** *** saidAt the beginning of this repair process, you and your *** were told that your roof was older and in pretty bad shape and the repairs might
not fix the problemAlso, there are no guarantees or warranty's on repair work. We also strongly recommended a full roof replacement due to the age and condition of your roofWe went ahead with a valley repair, upon your requestThe work was done and completed, it fixed the issue for about monthsAgain, there are no guarantees or warranty on repair work, this is industry standardAll parties involved knew that a repair would only temporarily fix the problem, which it didThere is nothing "shady" or "unethical" being done herethe work was completed, materials and labor was paid for

We have two different contracts here at Big Tuna Roofing ServicesWe have a CASH contract, in this contract the homeowner agrees on a price, shingle selection, and pays percent up front and percent upon completion of the roofThe other contract we offer is what we call an Insurance
“Authorization for Service”, allow us as roofing contractors to assist with the insurance claims process, the homeowner is required to pay their deductible and we build the roof for the insurance proceedsMr*** was presented with a cash contract for his roof in the amount of 9,450.00, for Tab shinglesHe did not sign this cash contractInstead he signed an Insurance “Authorization for Service” and it was explained to him that the insurance scope of work showed that the insurance company was paying out 9,for his roof, which was also a Tab priceSo, we explained to him that we could upgrade his shingles for no additional cost going with the insurance scope of workWhich was one of the reasons why he didn’t sign the CASH contract and went the insurance routeIn addition, to him signing our Insurance “Authorization for Services”, He also signed a Selection sheet which states that all parties involved know which type of shingles we are putting on the roofIn conclusion, the customer was presented two different options and choose one contract, he did not sign the cash contract, he signed the insurance “Authorization of Services” which allows us to complete the roof project for the insurance proceedsAlso, after he spoke with our service manager, who explained everything to him multiple times, the service manager offered Mr*** an upgraded Lifetime warranty on his roof system, to try to make him happyWe will be happy to provide any documents upon request

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: Mr*** did spoke to my *** on the 4/just like we stated in our original messageHowever, we didn't agree on anythingMr*** promised to send my *** pictures of the roof that *** took at the latest visitYet, he didn't do this either and we had to call him again few days later, after which he produced one blurry pictureMr*** (the ***) couldn't possibly know what was said during ***'s visit, as he was never hereWe do have a video surveillance to prove itWe have all the visits of *** on tape, including him NOT inspecting the attic for the source of the leak, before he attempted the repairMaybe there is a misunderstanding between *** and Mr*** of what was said, as we were told day one by ***, that the roof is in great shape considering it's age and all we needed was a repair of the valleyThere was no stipulation about the warranty and the roof held NOT months as they say, but less than (January 5th-April4) and ONLY because there was no rain in between! If it rained sooner, I am convinced the roof would leak right awayI do believe this business is unethicalThey are a new company started in and they already changed their name after only one yearOne may ask why? Usually roofing businesses change their name if they don't want to honor warranties granted to their customers and that is how they get away with itI don't think it is realistic to expect us to pay $for a repair that lasted months and only because it wasn't rainingI am shocked the *** of this business is still telling lies considering we do have a proof on tapeThey promised to fix the leak and they didn't, now they are saying there was no guarantee and they offered new roofThat is simply a lie

*** & *** ***

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: If I could attatch more proof of the horrible work ethics of Big Tuna, and their ***, and *** members I wouldThe response Big Tuna has sent is not accurate, and if it is, then they have been trespassing other times on our property other than the one instance I caught them on our property performing their cover up to the poorly provided workmanship that was not conpleted prior to our closing on said Home prior to 9/I have added the photos of proof of arriving at my home without giving permission to be on our property, no consent to do repairs, no phone calls, no communication, no invoice, no paper trail, and we as home ***s had absolutely no idea what these men from Big Tuna were doing to our roofI asked them to leave and have their *** call me! No one called me backTherefore here we are reporting Big Tuna for the awful work ethics, customer service, and poorly provided workmanship, and treating customers with *** ***, ***, and deleting honest reviews of their businessYet we are still waiting months on a chimney cap that was paid for over months ago, and JUST took measurements unannounced last weekAgain, Big Tuna please be truthful, and provide factsI am very disappointed to say the leastWe contacted you initially in hopes you would resolve our problems, but unfortunate Big Tuna has caused more problemsWe now need Mold Testing, and a new roofing company to come and inspect damage that Big Tuna has causedThe boards that Big Tuna covered up while we were not home are BLACK, and soaking wet!!! Again, if I could upload more photos, I would.
Regards,
*** And *** ***

First repair was done back in Apirl 2017, for a previous home[redacted], we have had a category 3 hurricane and 2 nor’easters since the original repair. We have fit the roof 3 other times, with no additional cost to the new home[redacted]s, and there is not contract with these new home[redacted]s but we went ahead...

and fixed it for free anyway. Repairs are not warranted, the house needs a new roofing system, which was explained to the previous home[redacted] but instead repairs and patch work was done, he was selling the house anyway. We have done everything we can to help these new home[redacted]s but they have done nothing but be difficult and rude.
