This was a repeat customer that was completely satisfied with the exterior paint job I had done for her in October of She asked me to refinish her cabinet fronts and paint the bodies in a contrast color that she had to match the room for $As it was over the Christmas holiday and she
wanted to get other cleaning done I took the doors to my garage and refinished them thereShe then requested that drywall behind the cabinets be replace, caulking be done, and back boards be put up, but to only do "as much as I could for $I agreed to do extra because she was a repeat customerAll cabinets were refinished, rehung with the original hardware, drywall replaced, and wall boards put up, caulked and painted; see attachedShe continued to request extra little items so I requested she meet me at the house to go over what she was talking about (she would only talk in the texts)and create a final punch list for the jobAlmost a week went by and she would not answer calls or texts, I tried texting her boyfriend as wellI had a feeling they were trying to get out of the trade for the trailer she had made and the payment, I sent one last text wondering what was going onI stopped by the site to see if I could get a hold of her and she was moving some one in and started yelling about her awningShe then told me to contact her boyfriend for final compensationI left a message with the boyfriend with no responseHe then emailed me about painting his trailer and I said I did not feel comfortable working for him and asked if we could meet to exchange the paint and give him a refund; no responseHe then contacted me to bring the paint back, on the phone we reviewed what he had given me and went over the work I had already done he said "just drop off the paint and we'll call it even"I mentioned that his girlfriend had told me to talk to him about the cabinet job and that I hadn't heard from him and he told me that those were separate deals and it was her business that I would need to address with herWhen I saw her when I dropped off the paint I asked if I would be compensated for the cabinet job and she said there were things she had to finish so noHonestly I dropped it because I haven't gotten a straight answer from either of them this entire time and wanted to be done with them so I took the job as a lossA few hours later I received an email from the boyfriend requesting I mail a check for $200; see attachedI was in the process of reviewing what he gave me, and the work I had already done; sealing and insulating the plumbingAs far as the awning; this was something that was falling apart and damaged and she decided she wanted it put back upI apologize if it was hung poorly, but it was literally falling apart and I advised against itWhen she asked me to look at it later on there was snow on it and I told her we would need to wait until the ice meltedI agreed to do what I could but it was very old and couldn't do anything in ice or snowAll of my jobs are guaranteed and warranted and I let her know that if anything needed to be fixed or touched up I would do it after winterShe stated she would have her boyfriend look at it.*** ***Manning Painting
