Review: The summary is that I ordered a book (C# in Depth, Second Edition) from the company through their website on 11-*-2013. After time and probing the support personnel, I found that they no longer can get the book. I requested that they return my money and I got the run around. At this point I my money has not been returned.

The following is a more detailed sequence of events:

I waited approximately 5 weeks for the book and then I called the support # [redacted] on 12-*-2013 and spoke with a representative that indicated the book was on back order.

She indicated that she will call right back to let me know how long it would take to get in but she never called. I then called back 3 times throughout the day on 12-*-2013 and there was no answer. I then called there book distributer on 12-*-2013 (###-###-####) and they said that I would have to talk with Manning directly regarding the issue. I then submitted a message to their website on 12-**-2013 because I could not correspond any other way. I then received an email response from there Customer Support ([redacted]) who started immediately trying to give me the run around by indicating that they did ship the product but something must have happened to it and he indicated that he would send it out again. I knew that he was lying to me but I told him that I was still willing to accept the book if they had it available now and could ship right away but if not then I would like a complete refund. He continued on with the lie and said that it is available and he has just submitted it to be shipped to me. A couple more days went by and I received an email from their Customer Support ([redacted]) indicating that a mistake was made and the book is no longer available. This proves that he lied when he said that they initially did ship it to me and he lied when he said that it was available and he just initiated shipment. At this point he tried to sell me something else. I then again told him that I want a complete refund to my credit card. He informed me that they no longer have access to my credit card account and said that I would have to send it to him through email in order to do a refund that way. I informed him that I am not willing to send my credit card information through email and that I would like them to send me a refund check or money order. He then refused by saying that he is not authorized to do that. Due to the fact that they stopped answering there phone, I had no other way of communicating with them. He finally appeared to be willing to cooperate but that didn't happen until after I threatened to go to the Revdex.com.

I have copies of the email correspondence between myself and their Customer Support if needed.Desired Settlement: At this point, the bottom line is that I would like a complete refund in the form of a check as I indicated to them and I would like their shady practices documented so as to alert other potential customers.
