Paid over 4000 for lasik. A few years after lasik I had an exam showing my eyes were worse, and have had 3 exams since that they each get worse.
I contacted them after having an eye exam saturday, the rep was VERY rude and told me that the lasik does not wear off-yet wanted to charge me 100.00 to come in and verify my eye exam. I explained I just had an eye exam through my ppo so they wouldnt pay for another. Rep was condescending and rude. I refuse to pay 100 for them to check my eyes AGAIN after they obviously did not do a good job on my eye lasik to begin with to have me getting a glasses script a year and a half after lasik. Rude rude rude representative, very argumentative and rude.

Good morning.

I am in the process of trying to find out who you spoke to at my office. I apologize if the person was rude and will get to the bottom of it as that is not typical for this practice.

hen you pay for the surgery all of your follow-ups are included for a year. In those rare cases that you need a second procedure we take care of that also within the first year. On you anniversary date we do a complete eye exam and then the patient is released. The patient is welcome to come back yearly for $100.00 for a full eye exam. This just covers our hard

cost. when a patient goes to another doctor they become that doctors responsibility in our eyes. Every doctor has a different way of handling patients and treating them. If they have a solution it doesn't mean that we will agree with them or they will agree with us. Its like this in almost all the practices I know.

That is so the patient understands.

I am offering an apology in advance for the phone call. I will also gladly have the patient seen at no charge. She can deal with myself or *** directly.

Regards

I am rejecting this response because: I was not told of the corrections offered within the uear as I did have vision changes within that year. My vision is bkurry and headaches now. Saying a patient is no longer your problem after 4000.00 procedure that your own rep VERY rudely informed me a procedure that does not ware off is unacceptable. The way I was treated by this rep is also unacceptable. He brushed me off and basically said its not possible and if I eanted ti pay yall 100 to prove that you would. Worst servicd ever and 4000 for a procedure that even a year later by your own machines was showing worse.

Regards

On October 16,2019 I went to Manrique custom Vision for a free consultation to see if I was a candidate for Lasik surgery and to get estimate on cost of procedure. An employee I believe his name was *** was being very aggressive trying to get me to schedule he also mentioned he could get me pre approved for a credit card to pay for procedure. I told him I was not interested in getting credit and that I was not ready to schedule he was very upset so I left because I felt very uncomfortable. Two weeks later I received a credit card from Alphaeon credit for 19 THOUSAND DOLLARS!! I immediately called the credit card and asked to close account because I never signed or authorized anyone to open an account as I am in the process of applying for a Federal job that will be checking my credit history. The following day after I received the card I went to the office and spoke to the manager *** and requested all paperwork I signed, nowhere did I sign to authorize to run my credit. *** stated they have had complaints about *** that he is very pushy.

Good afternoon,

e do not have an *** that works here. I had already spoken to the consultant about ***. *** basically sent us a certified letter that he wanted monetary settlement from us for his credit being ran for lasik. The credit can not be ran without patient approval.

he patient asked to be prequalified for 36 months interest free. The consultant actually had it approved by me since the patient could not afford the 24 month plan. He was told that his payment would be $117.00 and wanted to proceed. At the end of the day he decided not to. He was not charged a dime for the procedure since he did not proceed. I am sorry that *** feels the need to report a false statement to you because he did not like my employee. I apologize for the misunderstanding regardless. He is always welcome back as a patient .

I spoke with *** , he also never made the statement about the employee. He simply said he was sorry for the misunderstanding but, also knew the financing was cleared by me.

Thanks in advance

I am rejecting this response because:

I apologize for the mistake, the finance gentleman’s name was ***. I did NOT authorize him to have my credit run nor did I sign anything in regards to pre-approving me for a credit card. I was able to get all the paperwork I did fill out the day of my consultation and the medical history forms stated nothing about pre-approving me for a credit card or credit information. I was strictly there just to see if I was a candidate and to get an estimate on how much the surgery was going to be. I was not ready to schedule a date of surgery. Yes, I did send a letter stating this was not the proper way to treat patients to falsely opening accounts without their knowledge. Since then, I have already had the procedure done and paid for without financing. As I could afford to pay for it I never told them I could not afford it. I just was not ready to schedule a date. Especially, after how aggressive *** was being with me I decide to leave. Since my incident occurred, I have looked at the online reviews about Manrique Custom Vision and noticed that others that had made complaints did mention they had financing problems.

Good morning.

There is a protocol for finance in the office. We do hundreds of these a month and have no issues. The patient has a sheet that they fill out when they come in. It is called a demographics sheet. On the sheet it has options for the finance which were completed. The credit is then ran by the patient on a computer, or the consultant with the patients permission. We can't run credit without authorization because it requires a Social Security Number. Once the credit is ran the patient continues the process. Anthony decided not to continue the process so he was not charged. His credit was pulled through with his permission according to *** I am sorry if you did not understand this portion and why it happened. I have trained the staff on your specific problem and I am sure that it will not be mistaken again by anyone. I have contacted the credit company to try to have the inquiry removed.

I apologize for the misunderstanding. In my offices it is our job to help people see without glasses and contacts . Part of the process is the payment options. We offer this as a tool to help you. It benefits us in NO way . Again I apologize for the misunderstanding and am trying to correct it for you.

Regards

Had laser surgery performed. It had zero effect. I spent 2000.00 their response was to write me a prescription for glasses which is the very reason why I had the surgery in the first place to ... not wear glasses!

Manrique Custom Vision Center Response • Apr 29, 2019

had his right eye done. His right eye is perfect 20/20. We follow patients for a year and *** is several years out of doing surgery.

He did not have his left eye done because he wanted to keep his reading. The eye we corrected is perfect.

I doubt very seriously he would want his wife doing surgery with us if it didn't work.

I apologize that he felt the need to do this after all the office has done for him to try to resolve this. We told him we would gladly correct his left eye-which we didn't do surgery on.

There is nothing to fix on the eye we did!

Thanks in advance

I am rejecting this response because:

mr. is incorrect when he says I wouldn’t refer my wife. I have already referred my sister in law even though I never received my 100.00 reread check. She had her procedure done this year. Here’s my thinking if they have supposedly completed 43000 procedures then obviously they get a high percentayahe of them correct or they wouldn’t be in business. mr *** and this company’s Definition of success and mine are different . He says I have a perfect eye . Yet they wrote me a prescription for glasses! My definition is I would be out of glasses. They were incorrect when they did their examination and failed to tell me I would need both eyes operated on to get out of glasses. Something I would never have agreed too. Mr. has tried to bully me something I will never allow . Refund me my 2k or use it toward my wife’s procedure . This is more than fair.

In November of 2017 I went to Dr. Manriques office for an estimate on laser eye surgery. I decided not to go through with the surgery.
I have been billed $1000.00 for the very basic eye exam they performed on me.
Prior to the exam I was given a high pressure sales pitch by their office manager who opened a credit line with Alphaeon Credit. After disputing the credit line and resolving it I was billed for 1000.00, which is an exorbitant amount for an eye exam. This business is only interested in collecting your money first before eye care concerns. The office manager was very rude when I tried to resolve this issue by telephone communications, raised his voice and told me to never step foot in his office, then hung up on me.
I visited the office initially through a referral from a friend; her initial exam fee for the basic eye exam was $250.00.
I signed some paperwork not knowing that I was going to be billed, at the time I believed I was applying for credit that I could use at my discretion, NOT for a bill of sale I had not agreed too yet since I had not even seen the doctor. So bottom line.... This Dr.s office charges you for the services BEFORE they are rendered.

Unfortunately this is not an accurate statement. The patient was very aware of what was being done and signed 3 receipts that stated she understood there was a non refundable policy of $1000.00. 100% of our patients sign and initial all of this paperwork before they even go for all of their testing. Because of HIPPA I cannot send you this paperwork unless the patient signs a release.

We are not high pressure . I am the Operations Manager over 45 employees. She had a medical condition that we were going to treat. We aren't sales people as none of us receive a commission or extra money for people who sign up for a medical procedure,? That makes no sense at all.

Last she called in yelling at us. We want to be treated by people the same way we treat them. After several failed attempts to explain the non refundable deposit to her. She yelled again at me and I hung up on her. No one needs to be disrespected the way she disrespected me.

Our company has policies as does everyone elses. We follow the same procedures with everyone.

Thanks in advance.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

The practice that this office manager uses IS high pressure even though he denies it.

How could I be billed for $7000.00 before even visiting with Dr. Manrique? What I signed was unclear and I believed it was for a line of credit. There was so much double talk during this process, I was even instructed on what to say to technician and staff doctor by this manager during the exam to ensure "proper coverage."

Furthermore it was not me who raised my voice first, I had spoken to two office personnel members a few days before the office manager called me back and it was perfectly civil and calm , no raised voices or rudeness.

I have documented notes on whom I spoke with at Dr. Manriques office and I believe they can attest to that . They handled it professionally and with tact, unlike their office manager who immediately flew off the handle and raised his voice when he sensed my frustration (an then hung up on me.)

Maybe they do follow this same procedure with everyone and it is unfair, I am speaking out about the overcharge of $1000.00 for a basic/generic eye exam and would be willing to resolve this mess with a fair payment of $250.00 for services rendered.

The referral I went on, a friend of mine, paid this amount, why am I paying more?

Thank you

Regards

Im going thru the pre surgery protocol right now...they are very professional and seem to be very caring. They worked hard at finding me financing since I dont have insurance. Im looking forward to the surgery and having this cataract removed
