I requested a quote from Maple Springs Tree service. They went out and removed a tree without my permission and without giving me a quote. Then billed me $850. Even though I only asked for a quote.

Billing Adjustment Since I did not authorize this expense and all I wanted was a quote to compare I do not wish to pay for this bill that I did not authorize.
Mr.-We sincerely apologize for this miscommunication. The crew was under the impression this was a critical situation as a result of the storm. Rather than wait for your signature they thought they were doing the right thing by taking care of your tree the morning after the hurricane. They knew otherwise it would be days before they could get on the schedule.
We certainly would not want you to pay for a service if you do not feel it was something you would have moved forward with. After a storm the crew works very long, hard days trying to assist as many as they can.
Again, please accept our apology.
