Initial Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2016/02/23) */
Received business response via e-mail to Revdex.com -- scan is attached; text of letter reads as follows:
"February 19,
Thank you for reaching out to Maplewood Auto Mall in regard to Mr *** ***'s concernsWe stand behind our
business practices and would like to share how we handled the transaction with Mr ***:
After physically checking and test driving the vehicle, Mr *** happily purchased a Dodge Avenger VIN: *** on September 19th, At the time when Mr *** purchased the vehicle, there were no known issues and therefore, no further work was promised to him
Weeks after Mr *** had it in his possession; he had brought it to Maplewood Auto Mall's attention that the vehicle is now in need of front end component repairsAfter inspecting the vehicle, Mr *** was notified that the cause of the damages were seem to be caused by the driver running into a pot holeThe issue was NOT caused by a manufacture defect, therefore Mr *** (or his collision Insurance) shall be held liable
Maplewood Auto Mall went above and beyond to help Mr *** by fixing any / all of the issues that was brought to our attention at NO COST to Mr ***(Please refer to attached invoice 2684) It is unfortunate that even after Maplewood Auto Mall had try to help Mr *** with his difficulties, Mr *** was still not satisfiedWe stand behind our practices by delivering the best customer service at the most reasonable cost to our customersTherefore, we are more than happy to assist Mr *** by having him contact us directly and taking the vehicle back for an inspection and work towards a resolution
I hope the explanation above clarifies all of your concerns between Mr *** and Maplewood Auto MallThank you
Sincerely,
Shawn ***, General Manager"
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2016/02/23) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Maplewood Auto Mall is again lying to both me and to the Revdex.com, they accepted full responsibility for fixing my front end and they were aware of the tire issue from the test drive(when we first told them) we tried to email the sales person and never received a responseMaplewood Auto Mall is engaged in deceptive and dishonest sales practices as the lies in their response are so blatant and reprehensible it speaks to the character of their business modelWe have tried to settle this with them only to be lied to, tricked, and they put my whole family at risk of death or injury by allowing us to drive an unsafe car, with unsafe repairs made by Maplewood Auto Mall techniciansI have photo proof of the repairs before and after the repairs were madeI also have photos of the engine failure lights on the dash of their inspected rental car off of the lotI trusted them times to act with integrity and honor towards me and my familyThey choose instead to lie, profit from unsafe vehicles, and they as a whole are very dishonorable in all business dealingsTo make their lies so transparent is insulting to my family and to anyone who has ever put their faith in them to stand by what they sayShame on you Maplewood Auto Mall for not manning up and making this rightMaplewood Auto Mall would rather see my family injured or worse then make this rightI can prove everything I claim and I hope Maplewood Auto Mall looks into their souls/hearts and does what is right, not what is cheapest
Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 11, 2016/02/24) */
Explained to Mr *** that Revdex.com will be closing complaint at this time, given his indication that he will be contacting Maplewood Auto Mall directly to have the vehicle inspected and work toward a resolution
Advised consumer that if he feels Maplewood Auto Mall has not honored this commitment, he may contact Revdex.com to have case re-opened, if need be

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2015/08/24) */
Response received via online system -- attached includes copy of Buyer's Guide disclosures, invoice for tire replacement
Text of letter reads as follows:
"Thank you for reaching out to Maplewood Auto Mall in regards to Mr *** ***'s
concernsWe stand behind our business practices and would like to share how we handled the transaction with Mr ***
To the best of my knowledge, none of the conversations that Mr *** claims after the sale of this vehicle had ever happenedAll vehicles at Maplewood Auto Mall go through a full inspection before sellingDuring the test drive, Mr *** had pointed out that there were two tires going bad, in which Maplewood Auto Mall gladly replaced on April 09th, (Please see invoice #***)
Mr*** *** then purchased the vehicle on April 10th, -- not in March as he had statedAt the time when Mr*** purchased the vehicle, there were no other known issuesTherefore, he acknowledges receipt of the Buyer's Guide at the closing of the sale and understands that he is purchasing a used vehicle and agrees to all terms and conditions(Please see form attached)
Maplewood Auto Mall is a bonded and licensed dealership that would never sell unsafe tires to the publicIt is unfortunate that Mr *** did not bring this up to our attention before purchasing new tires from another businessWe could have helped him but now it's too lateWe stand behind our practices by delivering the best customer service at the most reasonable cost to our customersI hope the explanation above clarifies all of your concerns between Mr *** and Maplewood Auto MallThank you
Sincerely,
Shawn ***, General Manager"
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2015/08/24) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This statement is completely false"During the test drive, Mr *** had pointed out that there were two tires going bad, in which Maplewood Auto Mall gladly replaced on April 09th, 2014" The truth is I ran over a piece of metal during the test drive and the next morning after I purchased the car the tire was flatThey patched the tire and that was all they ever did for meThey never replaced any tires at allThe Discount Tire I took my care to said the tires had dangerously low treadThey said the tires could not be safely patched which I'm sure Maplewood Auto Mall would have attempted to doIf the dealership couldn't patch the tires they would have put another used tire on itThe tires were not safe when I bought the car and the salseman said the tires were "new"What is unfortunate is not that I did not go back to Maplewood Auto Mall for another tire patch or possibly a not so used tireWhat is unfortunate is I had to find out from an ethical business that I had been driving my family around in the unsafe conditions I was deceived about by Maplewood Auto MallI can provide signed documentation with company letterhead containing the readings on the tires and it proves beyond any doubt that the tires were not new when the car was purchasedI was lied to and my family was put at riskI do not consider this response to be satisfactoryI am willing to accept payment for the tires and be content at letting this incident be finishedIf not I would be happy at that point to have my attourney sue and/or press criminal charges

the transaction with them:In November 2016, they had it brought to our attention that they're having difficulties with a 2010 Dodge Journey battery. We then performed a free battery load test - and the results came back as good. After informing them that the battery was still good, they insisted that the battery had a manufacturer warranty and wanted a new battery. Maplewood Auto Mall suggested for them to stop by an authorized auto part store that carries a particular brand and seek to file for a manufacturer replacement. In regards to the 2004 GMC Envoy, [redacted] & [redacted] never informed Maplewood Auto Mall to cancel their warranty. However, on November 3rd, 2016, Maplewood Auto Mall received a request from West Lake Financial (the lender) to cancel the warranty on a 2004 GMC Envoy due to a total loss. The process started immediately and the request was finalized on 11/28/2016. A refund was sent back to the lender on 12/1/2016 already.I hope the explanation above clarifies all of your concerns between [redacted] & [redacted] and Maplewood Auto Mall. Thank you. Sincerely,Shawn [redacted], General Manager"

business practices and would like to share how we handled the transaction with Mr [redacted]. All vehicles at Maplewood Auto Mall go through a full inspection before selling. On August 2nd, 2016 when Mr [redacted] purchased the vehicle, there were no known issues. Therefore, he acknowledges receipt of the Buyers Guide at the closing of the sale and understands that he is purchasing a used vehicle and agrees to all terms and conditions. (Please see form attached)Mr [redacted] contacted the dealership towards the end of October and stated that the vehicle died while he was driving it. After Maplewood Auto Mall took the vehicle in and had it diagnosed by a certified Dodge / Chrysler dealership, the gas tank tested positive with E85 fuel. The technician at Chrysler stated that E85 is NOT recommended for Mr [redacted]'s vehicle. Due to Mr [redacted] putting the wrong type of fuel in, it had shocked the system and caused the fuel pump to fail. Mr [redacted] acknowledges and agrees to pay $488.01 to replace the fuel pump assembly on 10/26/2016 and the work was completed on 11/03/2016.It is unfortunate that after trying to help Mr [redacted], he is falsely claiming that Maplewood Auto Mall refused to resolve the problem. Mr [redacted] is also falsely disputing the charge with our credit card processing company and claims that the amount he paid to Maplewood Auto Mall was a fraud -- when Mr [redacted] was the one who authorized the transaction and signed on the receipt. (Please see all attached)We stand behind our practices by delivering the best customer service at the most reasonable cost to our customers. we do not have any interest in doing any further business with this customer. I hope the explanation above clarifies all of your concerns between Mr [redacted] and Maplewood Auto Mall.Thank you. Sincerely,Shawn [redacted], General Manager"

the following with you:At the time when Ms [redacted] purchased the 2009 Toyota RAV4, there were no known issues. Therefore, she acknowledges receipt of the Buyers Guide at the closing of the sale and understands that she is purchasing a used vehicle and agrees to all terms and conditions. (Please see form attached)Maplewood Auto Mall is a bonded and licensed dealership that would never sell unsafe vehicles to the public. The criteria for deciding when a car is (deemed) a salvage title is dictated and controlled by state statute or regulations. Maplewood Auto Mall is a car dealership that does not specialize in selling salvaged title vehicles and at the time that Ms [redacted] purchased this vehicle, the title was clean. It is unfortunate that Ms [redacted] did nto bring this up to our attention before making repairs from another business. We could have helped her with the repairs and saved her some money with our customer discount program. Unfortunately, it is too late now but Ms [redacted] is more than welcome to contact our service department in the nearest future for any other auto maintenance needs.I hope the explanation above clarifies all of your concerns between Ms [redacted] and Maplewood Auto Mall. Thank you.Sincerely,Shawn [redacted], General Manager"

pulled at the time of stocking in. This vehicle was sold 'AS IS' to Mr. [redacted] on October 2nd, 2017 and there were no known issues noted at the time of inspection. All of these documents have been shown to the customer already.Mr. [redacted] had placed over 1140 miles onto the vehicle before a transmission problem was discovered and this type of failure could have easily been caused by the drivers. However, we stand behind our business practices by delivering the best customer service at the most reasonable cost. We are willing to help Mr. [redacted] in any way that we can.As of today, the Maplewood Auto Mall and Mr. [redacted] is currently working on an ongoing agreement to resolve this matter. handled the transaction with Mr [redacted].All vehicles at Maplewood Auto Mall go through a full inspection before selling. At the time when Mr [redacted] purchased the vehicle, there were no other known issues. Therefore, he acknowledges receipt of the Buyers Guide at the closing of the sale and understands that he is purchasing a used vehicle and agrees to all terms and conditions. (Please see form attached)After a month (not within 2 weeks as he had stated) of taking delivery of the truck, Mr [redacted] reached out to Maplewood Auto Mall that the truck is in need of service and the cost would be $1200. We offered to help Mr [redacted] by doing the work at the dealership's cost for $800. Mr [redacted] refused and stated that he will seek for another place that would be cheaper. It is unfortunate that Maplewood Auto Mall had tried to help Mr [redacted] and he had refused the offer back in May. I am rejecting this response because: that is not true at all.  They didn't offer me any kind of reduced price break. All they did was tell me I bought the truck as is and informed me that the warranty I purchased does not cover that.  They knew that the truck needed that work because they put wheels from a Chevrolet on the GMC I purchased from them.  As far as the 2 weeks thing.  I didn't get a call back until 2 weeks after  I contacted them   So it was a month before I had talked to them.    I would not recommend anyone to do business with a car lot like this.   I understand that buying used you fill some issues but I have had to replace most of the front end parts all 4 ball joints and wheel bearings

Received call from Mai at Maplewood Auto Mall, indicating that check / payment in question would've been issued on 12/29/15, and records show it having cleared on 1/6/16, a day after complaint was filed.
