Maracay Homes
Do not buy Maracay Homes... thats all I can say. Very very disappointed.

Maracay still stands behind our decision.  The part that you replaced is a manufactured part that held Freon for many years.   You chose to have it replaced which is part of your home ownership duties.  The part that you claim we did a poor job installing only came with a one year warranty from the trade you just had replace it.  I don't feel it is fair to hold us to a different standard. Regrettably our harsh Arizona summers take their toll on AC units and things wear out.   Sorry [redacted]Maracay Homes

The AC had its' first repair due to Freon Leakage in July 2012. We had AC out on Friday evening and wait for Maracay's response until next Monday morning. Our whole family had to suffer extreme high temperature in AZ summer for couple of days to get it fixed. Please see the attached email communication between Maracay and us for the AC outage record. Upon this repair, the AC professional came in to fix the problem commented that the leakage is caused by the bad installation and it will probably leak again in the near future. Therefore we requested an extended warranty from Maracay but it was denied. This is also recorded in the attached email. As in their response they denied any reported AC repair since the purchase of this home, it already shown how poorly their quality system is managed and how irresponsibly they treat their customers. Since we had a bad experience from maracay customer service, at the time when we had 2nd AC issue in 2014 summer, we went ahead to order the repair by ourselves, instead of calling Maracay and wait for weeks to get it fixed. All the AC professionals came in to fix the AC had comments on the poorly installed AC, and due to this reason, the AC could be out anytime in the future.

Review: We bought our house new from Maracay home builder, then we started to have problem with AC every year since then,

We started to have AC problem in 2012 and then continuously having problem every year. Home Warranty covered the first two years's fix. The service sent from the warranty stated it is Freon leak and he had it fixed. However, it was not fixed probably. We had AC leak last summer that we paid for the repair. We had AC stop working again this year. We also have proof from the recent AC professional mentioning that the AC was not installed correctly from the beginning and caused the Freon keeps leaking. It is a problem with installation and asked me to contact builder.

We have been working on this issue with Maracay customer service team for while, we were just being told that they would not be able to do anything,

.Desired Settlement: extend the air condition service and warranty to another two years

Review: I purchased a Maracay Home in 2003. I had the one-year FHS home warranty, and called out for a low hot water pressure issue in master bedroom right sink. The Maracay representative came out to fix some cabinet issues and fix the low hot water pressure. The water pressure was increased...so I thought they had done a good job. So, a few weeks ago I was under sink and noticed the plastic handle on hot water had fallen off..and what appear to be wood filler had been used as an epoxy to glue a broken handle back real ghetto like! Maracay done a lot of shortcuts when house was built per my in phase inspector, but this takes the cake...Right now [redacted] is removing old valves and lines...this is what should have been done originally under FHS home warranty..but Maracay corned it up send did not fix correctly. The plumber from [redacted] says this will cost upwards of 270.00. I expect Maracay to pay for this repair...since they caused it by sending out foolio to perform repair.Desired Settlement: I will provide Maracay with a copy of [redacted] invoice, Maracay will pay me exact amount.

Complaint # [redacted]

It is unfortunate when a situation arises where one of our customers feels like they have been treated unfairly by Maracay Homes. Mr. [redacted] purchased a home from Maracay over ten years ago in 2003. His home came with a one year warranty along with a 2 year workmanship warranty. Maracay Homes satisfactorily resolved all of Mr. [redacted] warranty claims during that first year and have not heard from him since June of 2004.

Apparently during the construction of his home or during the warranty process a valve handle on an angle stop to a sink was damaged and then instead of it being replaced it was glued back together. The above mentioned repair is not acceptable to Maracay Homes.

According to a conversation I had with Mr. [redacted] today I understood that he paid approximately $240 to replace both angle stops on the sink. Since only one of the angle stops was damaged Maracay Homes is prepared to pay Mr. [redacted] for half of the repair.

I would like to note that Mr. [redacted] did not give Maracay the opportunity to rectify the situation. We feel it was unfair for Mr. [redacted] to open a complaint about us without even granting us the opportunity to be notified about the issue so we could have been given a chance to act on it. Because of this we formally request that the complaint be both removed from our records as well as your tracking.

Thank You

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

As far as this current issue with Maracay type repair, the valve repair for the glued solution was 175.50, and the second valve was 63.00 Being I am a man of honor and my word, I do not expect Maracay to pay the 63.00 for 2nd valve. I do expect the 175.50 Consider that all these years Maracay put my house at risk for flooding due to busted glued up valve. Consider that during the construction of my house, Maracay talked around and above my private in-phase inspector, and gave me the most difficult time when workmanship and cutting-corner issues were addressed. Consider that Maracay installed my gas-out in my utility room to high so that a pedastal is a requirement for any future occupant. Consider that master shower rusted out due to awfull craftsmanship in first few years and had to be 100% replacedat my expense...on a new home. Consider grout work and carpet work done by non craftsman, having to be redone, and me paying twice for same end product due to Maracay shortcuts and cost-savings strategy. I could continue..but will stop. So Maracay has no moral leg to stand on accusing me of not first going to them for resolution of a cheap faucet valve they should have replaced years ago in the correct manner..Furthur, the few times I did call them out, my house ended up in worse shape due to quality of people they sent out! So no, I did not waste my valuable time on Maracay, and my next home will not be built by said company.
