This company will scam you of your insurance claim money and leave you in a total disaster. Georgios [redacted] is a con artist from Newyork. Hire at your own risk

On the recommendation of good friends, we called Marathon Restoration to help us address a water related issue in our basement. They returned our call promptly and came out within a few hours. The technician came in and itemized ($1400) everything that needed to be done. Just before signing to have them start the work, the technician determined that my house, built in 2000, would require an asbestos test. They said they couldn't cut into any drywall until the results from this test came back in 24 hrs. This test would cost an additional $650.00. When I questioned the necessity of the test he told me some insurance companies ask for this test. I reminded him that we were not filing a claim with insurance and that I didn't believe my home had asbestos but he said this was necessary and he couldn't proceed without it. I then signed the contract(my mistake) with this additional charge on it. I had a subsequent call with another provider in the industry. He questioned the need in this instance and even if it was required, the cost is only $30 to run the test. I called the owner of Marathon Restoration and after a 20 minute phone call, he agreed to waive the fee. I no longer trust their manner of doing business and therefore I would not recommend them to others.
