Need jewelry repair? Beware!
My daughter bought me a garnet/ sterling silver ring from Marc Bridge Jewelers. In my humble opinion, she was over charged, but that's not that point of this review.
I brought the ring in to have it sized. After a lengthy wait, I picked up the ring. It was a perfect fit! I wish my story ended there. After a couple of days I felt a pinching sensation and after careful inspection, I discovered the ring was split right down the center of the band. Clearly whoever sized the ring, failed to close it up well.
My daughter brought it in and explained to the clerk what happened. The clerk just kept telling my daughter that breakage was not covered under the warranty. (Well, what is, if not breakage?) She was charged $30 to repair the faulty work of the one who originally sized the ring. I felt horrible for her. This kid spent enough of her hard earned cash!
I called in and spoke with Frank, the manager. I got the same response; breakage is not covered. He refused to concede the point that the fault of the breakage was not ours. He did, however offer to take 50% off the repair charge. While I appreciate the 50% off, it is still completely wrong that he did not stand behind his product. Very unfortunate.
They lost a potentially good customer (I happen to like jewelry - a lot!). Too bad for you, Frank. Be careful if you must have your jewelry worked on! Double check their work!
