been able to be used even if they weren't damaged. He used bigger floor joists than called for and the ceiling in the garage is now too short for the doors we had in the previous garage that the architect said we could reuse. He also made the door openings narrower than they were supposed to be. When the guy came to install the new, proper size (for the new opening) doors Jose hadn't even put any studs in the walls for the garage guy to install the doors. There was nothing to anchor the tracks to. Fortunately Jose put a wood frame on the inside of each garage door opening. It was the last thing he did before he left the job. Also, he used OSB plywood on the addition instead of the plywood that the architect had on the plans - lower quality and a lot cheaper. Who knows what the long term consequences of that will be, and the fact that he skimped to save himself money was upsetting. Another place he didn't follow the plans - He used 2 temporary adjustable columns in our garage. The building inspector told me that he told Jose they needed to be changed out with permanent columns to code, but Jose said that he had proof that they were compliant - but he never furnished the inspector with that proof. So it's another added expense to have
