Marcel Painting Reviews (6)

He may finish the touch ups,  but I'm not paying any more money to Marcel Painting for the time his workers spent fixing his mistake.

Hello [redacted]   In my last email I asked your availability for my project manager [redacted] to take care of your issues. (Not the same [redacted] that was the foreman you met at your home.) I am not sure if you saw that in my email?  I am willing to return to take care of any peeling,...

globs of texture, or anything else that needs to be done there. The [redacted] that was there previously reported to me that there were no touch ups and that you wanted him to install doors and lights. So since this apparently isn't the case I was misinformed. I apologize.  Sincerely, Kelly M[redacted] Marcel Painting

We used Marcel Painting to paint our house 2 years ago and they did a beautiful job. Marcel also outsourced stucco work we wanted done and it too was done well.
Recently, Marcel Painting painted our patio with a 14" border around the outside. Once, again, an excellent job.
Marcel Painting is also quick to respond to any questions you may have regarding the work they are doing for you and strives to please their customers.

We had our house painted in March of 2012 by Marcel painting. Our house is historic and wood, with layers of old paint on it. We knew it wasn't an easy job, which is why we hired someone to do it for us. We were assured that any loose paint that could be scraped off, would be. When I saw the house after it had been "prepped" for painting, I was pretty surprised by the amount of old paint that remained. It looked like they had scraped for a couple hours, then just got fed up and slapped on some primer or spackle over the old paint. Being that I'm not the professional, I didn't question it. There was also the 3 year warranty that was offered, so I figured if the paint didn't hold up, we'd just have them come back out. Well, a year later, some areas of paint on the north and south sides of our house are peeling and bubbling up. This is because old paint was just painted over. I emailed Marcel Painting to ask them to come out and fix the areas. After 2 or 3 weeks of ME following up with THEM, they finally had the tech contact me. We scheduled for him to come by (we wanted to be there to show him the areas so he understood). Needless to say, today is the 4th time we scheduled to have him come (he has no-called, no-showed THREE times before this!), and he still has not called or shown up. My husband texted him twice yesterday to verify he was coming (since it's his MO not to show up!) and he never answered. Absolutely incredible that a business is run this way, and that it is acceptable to have this kind of "customer service". When my husband did talk to the tech one of the times before he was supposed to show up, he told the tech what paint color and finish we had on the house so that he could buy some new paint (eggshell finish). The tech then said that "eggshell" finish is only for interiors, so that couldn't be what we have on the house. Eggshell is just a finish, it only matters whether you choose interior or exterior paint. And if that actually was true (it's not), why wouldn't the "experts" have advised us of that when we chose the paint?

It's obvious that the tech may need some additional training with technique and processes of painting. He also did stop by one day while we weren't here, and peeled a 12 inch section of paint from the side of our house so he could match it. So now, there is a big section of torn off paint and exposed wood siding. The owner was made aware of our issues with the tech, and told me he was also "fed up" with him, and that he'd be sending someone else out to handle the repairs. No one was ever sent out, and the owner never tried calling or emailing to make things right. He got his money though, so I'm sure it doesn't matter to him. So now after paying over $1k to have someone do the job, we'll be buying more paint, doing real scraping and sanding, and painting the problem areas ourselves.

Marcel Painting recently did a ceiling repair and paint job for us. We were extremely pleased with their professionalism and quality of work.

Owner, [redacted], kept in timely e-mail communication with me throughout our contract - from questions I had about the painting process to what paint would be used (Dunn-Edwards). Contract included exterior power-wash of home, painting of fascia, wooden roof over a large patio, metal support poles, and exterior carport doors. His three-man crew completed the job efficiently and professionally. Crew made contact with us when they promptly arrived to go over the specs of the job. Prep was well-done. Completed job as we hoped it would turn out! They worked hard in our AZ heat and humidity (June, 2015). Clean-up was acceptable. I would certainly call upon Marcel Painting for any of my painting needs!
