Marck Motors Reviews (2)

Review: The rear gate on my 2011 Toyota Sienna was not closing properly due to an alignment issue. Months ago, the door clipped the bottom of the garage door as it was being backed out of the garage. There was no outside damage. Initially, Toyota service center looked at the car (but did no repairs) on 2/23/15 and noted that the alignment was off and recommended a body shop. I had the car evaluated by Marck's Motor who informed me that the reason the alignment on the door was off was due to a "bent hinge" and that it needed to be replaced. They replaced the hinge on 5/13/15 and charged $144.12. On 6/19/15, while the back door was opening, the top part of the gate completely ripped off. Marcks motor was contacted on 6/19/15 but as it was a Friday at 3pm they could not look at it until the following Monday. The car was dropped off on the morning of 6/22/15. They agreed that the gate was completely off and recommended replacement but at a cost of more than $1000 just for the gate. They claim no responsibility despite the fact they had just worked on the exact part in question. Initially, they blamed me of re-damaging the car which it was not. Then they stated "they hinge was never the problem". When I asked why they would fix and charge me for a part that was not the problem, the owner responded "we took a gamble and it backfired'. They have now caused damage to my car that will cost more than $1000 to repair and are claiming they are not responsible. Additionally, the owner admits they fixed a part that was not the problem and took money for fixing something that was not broken. I have tried to resolve this with the owner, however, he is unreasonable at one point refusing to release the car despite the fact I had already paid in full. It is fraudulent to charge me for something that the owner himself claims was "never the problem". Additionally, they should be held accountable as their fraudulent "fix" has now caused an very costly repair problem.Desired Settlement: I would like my original monies paid ($144.12) to be refunded. Additionally, I would like the cost of the repair for the damage caused to my car to be paid. I refused to allow them to do the repair as they have already damaged my car during the initial false repair. Additionally, they had refused to release my car to me on 6/22/15 when they assessed the new damage despite the fact I owed no money to them. I prefer to use an alternate body shop.

Response:

Originally the customer of the Toyota Sienna was informed that a new hinge would improve the alignment issue with the rear lift gate. Several months later when the customers representative brought the vehicle in for the hinge replacement it was determined that the entire rear lift gate was bent or bowed due to the impact. The hinge did improve the alignment of the lift gate. The operation of the lift gate was demonstrated to the vehicle representative and was operating properly when it left. The vehicle representative was shown that the rear lift gate still had gap issues due to the lift gate being bent and would need to be replaced if the gap issues were going to be addressed.

A month later the vehicle came back to inspect a problem with the top of the lift gate. The upper spoiler was found to be impacting the roof and pulling off of the lift gate. The customer was informed that it was due to the prior damage of the lift gate being bent and that the lift gate would need to be replaced to rectify the problem.

Review: I brought my car here after I was in an accident. They were [redacted] approved, so I just went with it. [redacted], the estimator was so kind I felt really good about giving them $2,800 + to repair my car. My first problem came after I picked my car and noticed that the alignment on my hood and side panel weren't lined up correctly and there was orange peel on the paint job they did. I called and requested that they repair the problem and give me a rental car so I wouldn't have to miss work. [redacted] guaranteed they could do the work and I wouldn't be late for work at 9am. Not the case. I had to come back 2 more times and was late to work each time all because they couldn't repair my car in the first place and wouldn't make it right by putting me in a rental so they could spend the time needed to repair it correctly. A few weeks later I'm at a parking meter and reach into my change stash to pay for the meter - EMPTY! Not even a penny! They wiped me out! It was less than $4, but the fact that I paid them over $2,800 and someone there has the nerve to steel my change is infuriating. I called [redacted] and he was very apologetic even offering to pay me back. I declined. I just wanted them to be aware that one of their employees was stealing from their customers. Another few weeks go by, and my boyfriend noticed that my rear right tail light was out. I thought it was odd because I had just replaced it no more that 6 months prior. When I opened my trunk, unscrewed the trunk lining and pulled out the light socket (the ONLY way to access the bulb) there was no bulb! Not a broken of bulb, just NO BULB! The only person beside myself who had access to my trunk and brake lights was Marck Motors. I'm assuming the mechanic decided that he would physically remove my bulb as pay back for making him fix my car correctly. A few more weeks go by and my radiator hose blows because they never repaired it. I was out of pocket on that expense even though it should have been paid for by my insurance.Desired Settlement: I have emailed and yelped this company with no response. I want a written apology along with the steps they have taken to assure the poor service I received won't happen to another trusting customer. I also want a $26 check for what I had to pay out of pocket for my radiator hose that they didn't fix. I would also like there to be a mark against the company from Revdex.com because it is only fair consumers know the risks involved in dealing with this company.
