Bought a used car from them Was told we could clean out car when we picked up registration When we went back the car and everything in it was already taken to auction

Marcotte ford installed new fuel pump into 2005 F350 super duty diesel. Charged me price of part plus labor total of $941.73. Took the fuel pump that was removed to another shop to have it tested and was shown that the pump works. According to the service repair notes provided by Marcotte Ford the technician installed new fuel pump. The technician took truck on a test ride and it stalled, requiring ford to tow it back to the shop. This is the original problem for which the truck was brought in for service. As is described in service technicians notes the technician then found a bad fuse and a shorted wire to the fuel pump, which is printed on the service notes "found blown fuse after repair...towed back to shop inspected and found shorted harness for fuel pump circuit, causing fuel pump to fail." The technician found problem after installing new fuel pump at a cost of $468.45. The technician knowing that the fuel pump was not the problem, as it is stated in the service summary, left the new part in the truck charging me, the customer, cost of part plus labor rather than reinstalling the old pump which proved to be a working part.Product_Or_Service: repairDesired SettlementI would like the original pump reinstalled at no cost and a refund for parts and labor of replacing pump. Business Response This vehicle was towed in for a no start concern, after inspecting the vehicle we had to call the customer to let them know that in order to diagnose further the vehicle would need new batteries, which they supplied to us. after replacing the batteries we were able to determine that there was no fuel presure. we test for electrical power at the pump, it had the required 12 volts and the pump was not running. We replaced the pump and the vehicle started. During the road test the engine stalled, the technician test system to find that a fuse had blown. The blown fuse was due to a bare wire that would intermittently touch the frame. The technician replaced the fuse and drove it back to Marcotte Ford, (it was not towed back). We tried to explain to the customer that there were two seperate concerns, the fuse was not blown when the vehicle got here originally. I do believe that the fuel pump pumps during a bench test, "that is normal for an electric motor to turn again for a short time after being bumped aroud during removal. There is absolutely no doubt that the pump was faulty due to the fact that it had the required voltage going to it but would not spin at the time of diagnosis. We did not re-install the original pump as it would fail again. We explained to the customer that the vehicle needed many other repairs to assure dependability, they replied by shouting and stating that we mis-diagnosed it. I would strongly disagree and would be happy to forward the invoice and dicuss the matter further if needed. I can be contacted at XXX-XXX-XXXX [redacted]

I took it back to tell them what was wrong and that my check engine light was not on when I dropped it off. they took a look at it and then they told me that one of the spark plug was misfiring . and they told me it was going to be another $500 . and he also told me that therr was something wromg with the fuel injection more money they are trying to get out of poeple. I left and I will never bring my truck back to that place again. I had to pay another dealer to reinstall all of my spark plugs and coils because thay didnt put new plugs in.Desired Settlementi want a full refund because I had to spent more money fixing my truck after Marcotte Ford messed it up. my truck didn't have any kind of check engine light on when I dropped it off. when I got it back therr wherr all kinds of problems with it.Business Response Contact Name and Title: [redacted]Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXXContact Email: [redacted]We have been trying to research this situation on our end at Marcotte Ford. It apears that the vehicle came in [redacted] for an oil change and replacement of spark plugs. It was returned about 2 weeks later for running rough and stalling. At that time we remove and replaced the #8 spark plug coil, which is not uncommon at that mileage. I have no other documentation after that to attempt making a valid assesment of. If the customer has a document from another repair facility I would be happy to look that over as well and together we can try to make a detrmination. I am not trying to be short, we just need more information to evaluate.
