1:04pm to assist with aJump Start of Mr***' motor home, a Damon Class We dispatched our Driver to hislocation at 1:When we arrived we attempted the ]umpstart and It was determined that our jumpercable connection on our truck was faulty and inoperableOur driver returned to our office and got adifferent truck and returned to Mr*** to try once againWhen we connected to the RV onceagain Mr*** was not presentHe arrived just after our driver had reconnected the battery.We were "on scene" untl\2:pm with no luck getting the RV to startAfter failed attempt wecontacted *** *** to let them know we were unsuccessful.On Monday February 1, we received notice from *** *** that Mr*** hadflied a damage claim with them claiming electrical damage*** has their own procedures forinvestigating damage complaints and claimsThey collect information from both parties and utilize theirdamage team as an lmpartial 3rd party to assess all of the submitted Information and make a decisionregarding faultPart of this process requires our company to submit a written statement from our driveras well as a copy of our invoiceWe submitted these Items to *** on February 2,
*** closed the claim when Mr*** failed to provide proof of the claimTheyrequested color photos, an estimate of repair and a written statement from him which he didn'tprovideMr*** then contacted our office on February 5th claiming that our driver "lied" In hisstatement and that he had admitted to Mr*** that he connected the battery backwardsMr.*** said he was giving us the opportunity to "do the right thing"I attempted to return Mr.***' call and got no answerMr*** then came to our office a day later and spokewith one of our dispatchersThis time he claimed that the Positive wire on his battery is black and thenegative Is red and It would have been very easy for our driver to connect the cables backwardsOddlyenough this information was left out of the initial claimOur driver claims that this is not trueHeclaimed that the wires were the appropriate colors(Red- Positive Black- Negative) We advised Mr.*** that we were unable to honor his claim at that pointThrough all of our contact with Mr.***, through the road club and directly with us, we were never given a detailed description ofdamagesIt was always just electrical damage, no photos, estimate, receipt or anything
In Mr***' claim to the Revdex.com on 4/3/he again makes no mention of the"supposed" miss colored wires, he claims that the stater was damaged however (there are multiple on amotorhome) he also claims that the Distributor Cap and Rotor were damagedThis is impossibleAbyssTowing has consulted with multiple area Mechanics to confirm all statements made In this claimAll ofthe professionals that we consulted agree that had the cables been connected backwards long enoughto turn the key in the motor home, there would have been a fire, major meltdown or explosionItwould have been a noticeable event to anyone presentThe claim states that his repairs "so far" areover it is over months later, repairs should be complete and he should have an exactamountThe claim also states that the battery was just purchased In Januarywould question theevents that took place to completely drain a battery that Is Jess than month old.In closing, Mr***' claim has never been substantiated by anything other than hisword, it has changed each time we hear of it, the claim is inconsistent with what would actually happenif cables were connected backwards, the claim Involves components that would not receive damage Inthis situationBased on our research, the input of professional mechanics and the facts presented, weare left to believe the damage (If present) was preexisting and not a result of our attempts to jumpstartthe customers' motorhomeWe are not able to honor this claim as it is just simply impossible to havehappened as described.I am including all of the supporting documents as outlined in my statement
