I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I was not emailing, I was calling. I made several calls to my advisor to let him know I needed to drop the class. I also spoke to a supervisor. I was told the only way I could drop the class was by printing the form and submitting it. I was living in and out of shelters and did not have the means to print, scan, or email the form. I relayed this information in every call. Once I was able to access email I was told it was too late. During the first several months after applying financial aid was never completed on Maria University side. It was not until months after the classes started that I was awarded financial aid. I would be happy to take classes with this institution if they were respectful and responsible for clearing this spastic debt bast on my efforts to respect their processes within my best ability. Offering a student only one option for dropping a class is very unusual. I have a Master''s Degree and never had any issues completing my obligations with UOP. I am only looking for a resolution to this unwarranted debt.

Registrar's office did not receive any add, drop or withdraw form from this student.  The student indicates that they were emailing the professor however also indicates that they had no access to a computer to complete the form.  The form can be completed electronically online at www.Marianuniversity.edu from the Registrar page.  The University feels the student did not do their part to withdraw from the class or university and therefore owes for the class.

As we discussed, I have attached previously the student policy regarding dropping a class which was not followed.  Additionally, she was receiving bills to the address on file with Marian since 2014.  There has been no attempt to pay or contact Marian since she enrolled in the class.  It wasn’t until this case was turned over to a collection agency that any action was taken by her.  The collection agency was provided with the exact billing address and phone number that we had on file.  Marian is following the policy in place.

Review: On 5/01/14 I was accepted to Marian University. On 6/19/14 I was emailed to register for classes and that financial aid would kick in immediately. I received no further correspondence until 9/08/14 stating that I had not been attending classes. I told [redacted] by email and again on the phone that day that I had no access to a computer to print and return a drop form he stated I had to fill out. I was homeless and living out of my car and needed his help in getting out of the class. I continued to call and ask him to please fill out the form and use my email as verification if needed. He stated that he would. I did not receive another email until 01/16/15 stating that my financial aid had been approved. I contacted [redacted] again because I then began receiving mail stating that I owed $3,072.00 for a class I never attended. I continued to call and each time I was told that I owed the money because I did not file out the proper paperwork. They say they have it on file where I refused to fill out the paperwork. I have now received a collection notice for the amount.Desired Settlement: I would like the school to drop the collection and take it off my credit. I never attended classes and I asked them to take me out of the classes me several times via phone and email.
