Review: A "Touch test" (T-Scan), was scheduled to be done after the 6 Month Smiles procedure, and was pre-paid for, along with all the rest of the itemized charges on the receipt. At that time, I was not told it was to see where to cut the teeth down (re-shape) the surfaces of the top & bottom teeth if they don't meet-up correctly.

The procedure didn't go as planned, and the cost to the dentist must have increased when they needed to make separate plastic aligners to further correct what the 6-month smiles braces didn't do.

A final procedure, to reduce the spacing originally made to rotate the teeth, was not done.

(I called the main company of 6-month smiles, to confirm this final procedure existed. They confirmed it)

I wasn't going to file-down all the back teeth to "re-shape" them, if the teeth were not in their proper final position.

So I refused to allow doing this T-Scan.

[redacted] doesn't feel I'm entitled to a refund of the separately added charge for the T-Scan, explaining ... "that it's part of the total amount of the procedure."

That's ridiculous. Looking at the receipt, you'll notice the separate 6-month Smiles charge, as well as other added itemized amounts. (I can show the receipt, but no attachment-link shows, to add it here)

Doesn't Simple contract law state, if something itemized, added, isn't given, that amount should be refunded.

If not, it's a breach of contract?

I should be allowed a refund for any test pre-paid for, that was never done.

With [redacted]'s logic, she can add any amount to a receipt, and claim it's part of the total and can't be refunded.

If an undercoating of a new car is paid for, and not done, is [redacted] comfortable letting the car dealer take that money too?Desired Settlement: $295.00 charged, for the T-Scan that was not done.

Response:

[redacted] presented in the office on 2/**/2013 to start his orthodontic treatment. All steps of this treatment were explained, consent form signed. Patient was seen in the office for a follow up visit on 6/**/13 when he decided that he would like to stop his treatment despite the fact that the treatment was going as planned. [redacted] presented a diagnosis of continuing Six Month Smiles treatment. The possible ramifications for non-treatment have been explained to [redacted]. He understands the consequences of not allowing this office to proceed with appropriate treatment. To treat patients effectively, there must be good communications and trust between the patient and the doctor and staff. Due to inability to maintain a good doctor-patient relationship, [redacted] will get reimbursed in the amount of $295.00 for the test that will not be performed. Therefore the problem is solved.

Response:

As per our conversation I am letting you know that [redacted] needs to stop by the office to sign forms in order to pick up his check.

Also the office is unaware of "sonographic test" [redacted] mentioned earlier

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Until I reply to their LIE saying I stopped the procedure early.

(I accept the $295 refund check, but want my reply on record.)

---

I am appalled by the lie this office has stated, in reference to me stopping the procedure..!

I never stopped anything. They had trouble getting a tooth to move as it was needed, so they used aligners after removing the braces.

They originally said this entire procedure, before I paid, would only need 4 months, then, after starting, 4 months turned into 6 to 9 months.

By the time it was done, it was going on the second year.

I tend to think, the doctor doesn't fully know what to do, if the procedure doesn't go as planned (because she's not an orthodontist), and depends on what the 6-month smiles reps tell her. Maybe they charge extra for more info, and she tried it on her own.

The procedure was basically finished, when I found out I needed hernia surgery, near the end of February 2014, and I informed the office I'd be back after I felt able to move around well enough.

I had called their office to ask if the procedure was finished, about two(2) months later, and was told no other aligners were needed, and it was basically finished except to do the T-Scan to reshape the teeth.

Their employee, Veria, said all was finished, when I asked her to ask the doctor.

I have this call recorded. I did NOT stop any procedure early.

THAT IS A TOTAL LIE..!

I didn't want to cut the healthy enamel off good teeth, and asked if they can limit the spaces between the teeth, made by the straightening process. This was when they gave me the June [redacted] 2014 appointment to look at my complaint of spacing.

At this appointment, they said the spacing is fine, even though I complained of food being packed between two back teeth giving me pain.

I asked if the T-Scan payment could be used towards something else, but the doctor said, "It's part of the Total Cost, and can't be refunded."

This was when I filed the Revdex.com complaint.

Anyway, I'm not going back to this office, so ...

... I DO accept the $295.00 refund check, and figure the $45.00 for a alleged sonographic test is not going to be addressed by them. (No surprise)

They won't be getting any more money from me, that's for sure. I see the lies they play at, and can prove it. I didn't want their OUTRAGEOUS lie of saying I stopped the treatment early, to be on record, without my reply to it..!!

It shows the level of non-professionalism at this office..!

Oh, ..to make it clear to them, if they haven't figured it out...

...I want them to cancel my appointment for July [redacted] 2014.

Not to say I never told them to cancel it, and bill me for it, by "mistake".

Sincerely,

Consumer

I never needed to sign a "mutual release" to receive any other refund their office issued.

Their check is that release from them, and it cashed by me is the release, from me.

At this point, I DO NOT trust signing any other papers they present to me, other than the refund check.

The Computerized Sonography test, ($45) shows in the attached receipt, also originally sent to the BBS agent, [redacted]

If they now state they don't know what the sonography was, I guess that proves my point, that they never did that one either.

I'll accept the refund check of the $295.00

Have them send the check. That's the only paper from them I'm signing.

Sincerely,
