W.O.R.S.T. S.A.I.L.I.N.G. E.X.P.E.R.I.E.N.C.E. !!!

TITLE:

A CRAPPY ADVENTURE

So there we were with sailing with the family, my father-in-law loves to sail so he rented a sailboat from Marina Sailing on Shelter Island Dr. I prepared lemon basil shrimp on kabobs and other kabob for grilling that day out on the open sea. So a few hours in I get I try to fire up the grill and lifted the lid only to find out it was not cleaned from whomever grilled before, but then I tried to turn the grill on and it did not start and figured out there was no propane, this was not cool with a starving crowd, but luckily I had a backup plan. I had made tuna fish sandwiches in our cooler, so ok no BBQ shrimp Kabob, but we got sandwiches. We have some lunch and things seem to go well. Later [redacted] went down to use the head a.k.a. bathroom. So I hear a a loud voice from down in the boat and [redacted] is trying to stop the toilet from over flooding, we did our best to stop feces, poop, [redacted] mixture from who knows how many previous boat renter....what followed is a horror story of a family stuck on a boat for hours with the sick smell of old bacteria deadly stench of who knows how many others people's bowel movements. Then the horror began, first [redacted] vomited off the side of the boat...GoodBye Tuna fish sandwiches...then I followed after seeing the flow of brown liquid coming up through the top of the boat near the side dripping toward the back of the boat...followed by my wife and [redacted] getting sick...I can not stress ENOUGH to NOT use this company, if you do DON't expect [redacted], thats right it was [redacted] who failed to prepare the boat for our family. We suffered the whole way back to dock.....later my father in law [redacted] informed them of what happened and they offered a free boat rental and a sailing lesson, that still was not enough for me, but it was enough for my father in law, so I let it go and just chalked it up to horrible customer service provided by people that DO NOT care about the experience they provide for customers.

So my father in law follows up with the free boat rental / sailing lesson and it turns in an horrible customer service experience. I mean really who would make this BOWEL MOVEMENT UP!

Here are some details:

1. When I returned the sailboat August 7, 2014 no one was in the office. It seems like it was around 3PM. I thought I brought the boat back 3 hours early.

2. The next day I went to the office. I first told [redacted] what happen and asked that I get a full refund. [redacted] said they can't but he will let me have the boat the next day. We had other plans for the rest of my time in San Diego so I could not take him up on his offer (credit) this trip. I said, can I have the boat the next time I am in San Diego and he said yes.

3. [redacted] clearly displayed that [redacted] was wrong to have not emptied the head's holding tank (Toilet). Another lady was in the office listening to the conversation. Another thing [redacted] did not do was to watch me take the boat out of and return to the slip. [redacted] was irritated about that.

4. Also, I asked [redacted] due to our inconvenience, will he give my daughter a free sailing lesson. He did not say yes or no to that. By the way, that's the only thing [redacted] said he remembers.

5. I have called and left a message, talked to someone or someone has called me from Marina Sailing 19 times over the last 5 weeks. Everyone keeps passing the buck. I have talked with [redacted] and [redacted] all multiple times. Both [redacted] and [redacted] said that they would call me back due to being busy and they did not call me. If fact just yesterday [redacted] said, "Can I call you right back?" I said, do you promise that you will call me "right back" and he said yes. I called and left him a voice message 8 hours later. He called me back the next day which was today, I was upset with there lack of reasonability and apathetic attitude toward me and our family's horrible experience, so I told him I would have my brother stop by to handle this matter from this point forward because he lives in San Diego and I live in Houston.So I'm the son in law and this my experience. I will make sure that this review goes viral on the internet.. this is by FAR the worst experience I have ever had.

Review: Marina Sailing collected charter fees for sailboat rental on my behalf, and refuses to pay me my share, or to provide me a statement. They also double billed me for maintenance services on the boat, and refuse to re-imburse the over charges. They will not respond to my requests for statements.Desired Settlement: I expect Marina Sailing to pay me the charter fees collected, and to re-imburse over charges.
