Dear BBB, While it is true that we initially sent back the [redacted] light by accident, the rest of the details provided by MarineandReef are utterly false. The Aqualight clearly was defective as it would not hold the color intensity in the timer mode and was unused with NO watermarks aside from testing the remote control which alerted us to the faulty product. Secondly, absolutely no calls, angry or not, were made after the request for the return (only email correspondence); this is an absolute lie but does not surprise me in the least given the disreputable nature of the business. So, again, I seek my full refund of $91.54 for the defunct unit based on the company's own written policy guaranteeing all its products to work right out of the box. Any further assistance toward this end would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Sincerely, [redacted] P.S. I have attached an email from MarineandReef that shows the business's promise to refund me for the product if shipped back at my expense; there was no indication whatsoever of the multiple deductions that were taken off the refund deceitfully after the fact.

Mr*** * *** called AquariumPart.com with a request to return the aquarium lamp he purchasedHe was told that he could return the lamp for a full refundHe persisted in arguing with the CSR and the supervisor and demanded that we pay for the return shippingAs there was absolutely
no reason for AquariumPart.com to pay for return shipping he was told he would be responsible to pay for the return shipping.Mr*** persisted and would not take “no” for an answerHe then decided AquariumPart.com should just given him his money backHe threatened to get the CSR fired and he told the supervisor that he would send a tweet to his many thousands of Twitter followers if we didn’t just give him his money backAt no time did Mr*** even claim that the product we sent him was damaged or anything other than what he orderedThe order was shipped the first business day after the order was received and was delivered on timeYet, he kept demanding that we give him his money backWhy? He never explainedThere is absolutely no reason to give the customer his money back until the product is returned.Mr*** then threatened legal action and to report AquariumPart.com to the Revdex.com if he wasn’t given his money backAt this point it became clear this was an extortion attemptHe threatened to tell lies about AquariumPart.com unless he was given his money backIf Mr. *** persists with his baseless complaint AquariumPart.com will have no option but to defend its reputation by pursuing this matter the State’s Attorney GeneralExtortion is a criminal offense and we hope the Revdex.com will not assist him with this. Our position is the same as was communicated to Mr*** over the phoneIf he returns the product, postage paid, in new re-saleable condition we will refund the full purchase price less the $shippingThis is the return policy outlined in the Help pages of the AquariumPart.com

Revdex.com:Since vendor is placing blame on manufacturer for misrepresenting dimensions of the tank, there is really nothing more I can doSadly, vendor still lists dimensions as published knowing, with photographic proof sent to our credit card company and attached, that tank is actually 20.5" tallRegardless of industry standard in listing tank sizes, if that is actually a standard, vendor should at least include "approximate tank dimensions" as not to mislead other consumers. The discrepency in published dimensions has been brought to the attention of the manufacturer "*** ***" and they quickly, without hesitation, worked with us to resolve the situationI'm talking within 10-minutesThat being said, we have shipped the tank and matching stand back to the vendor in new resaleable condition via UPS Ground and we are satisfied with a 100% refund of money charged to our credit card for both aquarium and matching stand
Saying that, I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I would expect that a full refund be issued within business days after receipt of the return as this will allow Marineandreef.com ample time to inspect confirming new in box condition. If the business refunds our total purchase without return, restocking or shipping charges for both tank and matching stand I will consider this complaint resolved

Quickly he filed a claim with the Revdex.com before we even had a chance to inspect what he returned this time. Despite his claim that he never put the light on a tank it was covered with water spots. Interestingly, the light worked just fine. We have issued the customer a refund of $68.97 to his [redacted]. We did not refund him the original shipping charge of $6.99. We deducted $12.03 from the refund for the cost of the UPS return label he demanded from us, that he used to send back the product he admits he didn’t buy from us, and we deducted $3.55 for the shipping cost to send him that [redacted] light back.
