Each tenant is offered to option to purchase insurance, or self insureMr [redacted] opted to self insure when he moved inOn Feb 12, 2015, Mr [redacted] stated that he had water damage in his unit, management offered to move him to another unit, and also offered to launder his bags of laundry, but also informed him that he opted to self insureMr [redacted] purchased our protection plan on 2/26/15, and submitted a claim on 3/2/for over $8,The limit that he purchased was $5,000; we submitted his claim, and the claims adjuster has repeatedly asked for proof of purchase/ownership of the belongings because they want to pay to replace his belongings, but Mr [redacted] has failed to prove that he in fact had more than $1,worth of goods to be replacedWe have been in contact with the claims adjuster, and Mr [redacted] has stated that he does not want to correspond via email, and the email that he provided does not workWe are anxious to get the claim settled, and are hoping that Mr [redacted] can furnish the claims handler with the appropriate receipts and/or bank statements as requested so that he can be paid accordinglyPlease feel free to contact me; if you look at the dates,or the first complaint of damage, and when the tenant purchased the protection plan, the contents weren't technically covered, but we are trying our best to help him recover his losses
