Mariner's Inn by the Sea

Review: I booked 3 rooms at this hotel on November 13, 2014, for a date of February 14, 2015. In December, I called to confirm that I had a reservation for 3 rooms on Saturday, February 14, 2015. I was assured that everything was correct and my reservation was confirmed. On February 14, 2015, I arrived and was told I had no reservation. After giving my confirmation number from the email I received, the front desk person was able to find the reservation. It had been cancelled by the hotel 2 weeks prior (On January 31, 2015). I did not cancel the reservation, and I never received an email regarding this cancellation. In the time I was waiting for a resolution, the front desk gave us the contact number for one of the owners, Pete Patel. He told us he didn't have time to deal with our issue because he was out to dinner. Also during our wait, we were told by another couple that they booked 3 rooms on January 31, 2015. We asked the owner about that via email with no response. The front desk person was able to give us one room so we could at least have a place to sleep. She did that by taking a room away from another guest that had not arrived (and had 2 rooms, so they were left with only 1). Six people slept in one room, including some of us on the floor. My fiance had health problems immediately after, due to sleeping on a cold concrete floor. He was sick for 4 days following that night. The next day when I went to check out, there was no documentation of our issue, and the hotel asked me to pay in full for the one room ($143). I negotiated it down to $50 total. We should have not paid at all. The owner never contacted us again, and we reached out one more time via email with no response. It is apparent the ownership of this hotel does not have any regard for the service of their customers.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the $50 I paid. My reservation was not cancelled by me, and I received no notification when someone else cancelled it on my behalf.
