Marinette Roofing & Gutters

Called [redacted] earlier in the week to set up an appointment for an estimate. He called back a couple of days later and set it up for Saturday. I waited around for him and he was 45 minutes late for the appointment. I explained what I needed to have quoted on the house next door and how we wanted the quote broke down. He drove down to the house next door, never to out of his vehicle, and drove back to our house and told me the quote (which was not broke down how I asked). His quote was twice as much as the previous quotes we received. I then explained again how I need the quote broke down. He proceeded to role his eyes at me and give me a dirty look. I nicely said, if you don't want the work then just say so and he could leave. He told me in a vulgar, unprofessional manner that he didn't need the work and peeled out of the driveway. Rude, unprofessional, and can't imagine what his workmanship would have been like.

My experience with [redacted] was terrible. He installed some gutters for me 2 years ago. Ever since he installed them, water was dripping down the facia and I couldn't figure out why. The facia was all black and the water that dripped down the facia was creating a trench in the flower garden under the gutter/soffit area.
So, I kept telling my wife, I just think it is because it was raining hard until recently. I went up onto the roof and notice that the gutters were installed on top of the gutter apron.
I have done enough roofing and gutter jobs myself as I have helped my brother growing up with his home remodeling business. Water will not run into the gutter if the gutter is not slipped under the gutter apron. I do not have all the tools, access to gutters of 30 plus feet or the help to install them myself so I had [redacted] install them and that was a mistake.
When he installed the gutters, he didn't put on down spouts either. I called him and asked where the down spouts were. He said he would come put them on. He never would say when, which I thought was unprofessional but he did eventually come. When he came back, he did not do one of the 4 downspouts so I had to call again. He did eventually come back but never did seem pleased about it.
So, just this week I called Marinette roofing and gutters. I called Monday to see if [redacted] could come fix the problem. I left a message with his wife with my address, name and phone number. There was no response. Wednesday I called again, and left a message with the wife saying I haven't heard from [redacted] yet, and she said he has been busy and he did stop at your house. I thought this was weird. Why would he just stop by? So I left another message to call me back.
On Thursday, I called again and talked to the wife about the problem more specifically and told her that the gutter was installed on top of the gutter apron which was wrong. I asked her to have [redacted] call me.
5-10 minutes later, [redacted] called and was clearly defensive, disrespectful, unprofessional, and rude to me. I told [redacted] I just wanted to the job done right and told him the gutter needed to be behind the gutter apron so water can drip into it and not between the gutter and the gutter apron.
He told me not to speak to his wife like I had, and I told him, all I told her was that the gutter was installed incorrectly and I would like it done the right way. He got all defensive again, called me an [redacted] and hung up on me.
I called him back and asked if he was ready to talk professionally, he said if you know so much about this why don't you just install it yourself? I told him that I dont have the tools, the gutter or the help. He began making excuses and said he would be over Sunday (of course he didn't tell me a time again). Before he could hang up, I told him if you can't own up to your mistake then I don't want you to come. Then he said, why don't you just get someone else to do it for you. Then I told him he was a cheap [redacted] and hung up on him.
So, today is Friday May, 30th and I had the day off from work. Wouldn't you know it...who shows up at 8:45 AM. [redacted] and his big truck. [redacted] probably thought my wife and I were working. All of a sudden as I am getting ready to go out and talk to him, he is pulling out and leaves. I am not sure what he was doing at our house.
