Mark Mazda Reviews (%countItem)

One thing is strange that Mark Mazda cannot be found and is mapped to Mark Mitsubishi. This review is for #MarkMazda of Scottsdale AZ.
I had two separate incidents with Mark Mazda that I will explain and will support this rating:
I purchased a used Mazda 6 from this dealership on February 23 for my daughter in hopes she could have a newer more reliable vehicle for her road trip on March 2nd. Was fully aware and informed before purchase the vehicle that it was new to inventory and needed to go through service, body shop and completely detailed..... but should be done by then.
I called the dealership to get a status Feb 27 and was explained they were doing the body work down the road at their *** location and should be done by 2/29. I called on 2/28 to check on status and was told they haven't been able to get to it but if it wasn't ready they'd give me a loaner if we needed one for my daughter to take one of our cars....
We patiently waited and were informed after calling in again on March 6th we needed to come get a loaner because car will not be done in time....fine we will work with a loaner...(Had a whole separate horrible incident at Mark Mazda you can read below from 3/8).
On 3/11 I was informed after text to get a status from the sales person that car was done and I could pick it up on 3/12. I enter the dealership around 3:15pm and ask for the car (I purchased nearly 3 weeks prior) low and behold no where to be found on premises. Car was still at body shop and was then told it had not been through service department, nor had it been detailed yet.....response I get "you can keep the loaner and we will deliver the car when it's done" at this point I am fuming yet again in this dealership......
This place has absolutely 0 customer service nearly every interaction was customer invoked.. ZERO follow through nor followup which would have saved me (today) an hour commute roundtrip!!! No regard to customers value in time. Not to mention the nearly 3 weeks to get a used car purchased from their lot and still don't have it on 3/12!
On 3/8 at Mark Mazda of Scottsdale (at this point my satisfaction with the dealership was OK) I brought my son into test drive and purchase a newer/certified Mazda. We had absolutely the worst experience at Mark Mazda dealership on Sunday 3/8. One week after we had just purchased the car noted above from Mark Mazda to hopefully purchase another....After spending hours there test driving various cars with my son and him finally making a decision and agreeing to work a deal.... our sales person comes in all hurried and says sign now sign now..?? I wanted my son to fully and completely understand what he is signing and not being rushed as this is a big commitment for him....He did sign and the sales person came back and said sorry too late...
They literally sold the car out from under us even knowing we were working the deal first AND spent nearly all afternoon testing cars trying to see what car was THE BEST fit. I would have thought some sort of loyalty to a returning customer would be at play not to mention we were working the deal on that car first.
There is absolutely no sense of customer loyalty anymore especially not at Mark Mazda!! They had another sale and most likely many more years with me and several referrals and recommendations but with these type of sales antics and no type of customer loyalty considerations.....absolutely horrible, unethical!!
It would be one thing if this was an isolated occurrence but these are two totally separate incidents within 3 weeks but consistent reflection of very poor customer service....
You wanna deal with a place like #MARKMAZDA .....good luck absolutely a joke!
After leaving without the car I was supposed to pick up today I did leave to calm down and tried calling to speak with the GSM Blake but as expected he was not available to speak to me. We will see if I receive a return call.
Would not and will not recommend Mark Mazda of Scottsdale to anyone. I will be sharing this review through every avenue at my disposal. NO #MarkMazda of Scottsdale

Mark Mitsubishi Scottsdale
Worst car buying experience of my life (60years)
1. I made an appointment to test drive a Jeep, on Saturday morning at 9:00 AM - the Jeep didn’t show up until around noon. We did not leave the dealership until almost 3:30
2. Kelley Blue Book value for our 2015 Jeep Wrangler Sahara was obtained, salesman made sure I was emailed a copy, value was around $26,700.00 salesman made a point to mention Mark Mitsubishi used KBB value. I assumed (MY FIRST BIG MISTAKE) they were giving me this much and never checked the facts again. My assumptions were based on his statement, and the offers I had obtained, a week before visiting Mark Mitsubishi, from at least 5 local dealerships to purchase our Jeep for over $26,000.00, we only received $23,000.00 from Mark Mitsubishi for it, as a trade in. Unfortunately I realized this 2 weeks after the deal we had made. If I had it to do over, I would have sold our Jeep and not traded it in.
3. I knew my credit union offered 36 months at 2.99% for newer vehicles 2018 and above. Even though I repeatedly requested these terms. Mark Mitsubishi, only offered me 60 months, if the knew our credit score, they did not care (BTW it’s over 800) their first rate was 5.75 eventually they offered me 4.5, I knew I could just refinance it. We did refinance it with our credit union for the rate 2.99 and 36 months.
4. Extremely high pressure from financial manager to purchase an extended service plan, and related coverage. Gap, interior exterior & appearance, lost Key fobs, tires and so on. MY SECOND MISTAKE, I caved in and added extended service plan only. I am now in the process of canceling the plan, two reasons. 1. The Jeep we purchased has a huge balance of factory warranty. 2. The company they push is called Portfolio, they are not listed in even the top 10 service plan companies. Beware, canceling this plan will cost me $75 and has to go through dealership.
5. The dealership had dealer adds, one of them is a GPS tracker system called KAHU, cost was just sub $1000 I recently investigated KAHU, the dealership’s buy them in bulk, install them on their inventory and use it to track where their cars are. They sell it to the customer. To be fair, it does have value, the car can be located if it gets stolen, you can set boundaries for the car. The part I don’t like is, it tracks where you go, how fast you go and other things. I called KAHU to find out what they do with the data? From what I understand, it’s currently illegal for them to sell or use the data. The subscription expires in 2021, I asked how much it will cost to renew it, their answer was strange, basically they told me they don’t have a price or a plan on renewals?
6. The contract said the Jeep had 12,868 miles on it, in actuality, it had close to 14,500 miles on it. To his credit, the general manager returned my call, obviously they are not going to give me any help with what they gave me for my trade (didn’t even ask) however he said they would pay me 20 cents a mile for every mile over the contract miles. I told him I didn’t know the exact number, he said not to worry, take a picture of the odometer. He would use the number. I gave him my cell number, he was supposed to text me his number so I could send him the picture...... that was almost two weeks ago, no text.

Fortunately, I can afford the $3500.00 mistakes I made, maybe you can’t? Would I ever purchase another car from Mark Mitsubishi or any Mark dealerships? I am 60 years old, I surely should have known better than to make the mistakes I made. If I would have been paying attention to the details, I would have requested more for my trade, gotten my own financing and not purchased the warranty! I kind of doubt they would have met my demands, I should have walked out on this deal.

I hope others can learn from my poor choices and mistakes.

I purchased a used vehicle and eight days later the transmission went out. Luckily I had purchased a extended warranty to cover the repair. It took 7-8 weeks for my car to be repaired. Five months later the transmission went out again, and another 7-8 weeks for them to repair my car. A few months later the turbo charger went out, and when I went to pick up my car I was told I owed $100 for deductible. I explained to service adviser that when I purchase the warranty, the Finance Manager had told my husband and me that if we came back to the selling dealer for repairs, we would not need to pay deductible. I spoke to Sales Manager (Robert) and he explained that Finance Manager had been fired for giving customers the wrong information and that I was responsible for the deductible. I have taken my car for repairs multiple times, and the service adviser is rude and dismissive. The worst customer service that I have received!! Do not purchase a car from this dealership!!

Customer Response • Oct 14, 2019

On Aug. 2019, I took my car back to Mark Mitsubishi Scottsdale, because there was a fan that was staying on for hours, so we would have to disconnect battery to get fan to turn off. The Services advisor stated they could not find an issue with my vehicle. The next day while I was parked I heard a loud knock under hood, loud screeching sound and burnt smell. The harmonic balancer had fallen out of the engine!! I had put a lot of pressure on the service manager to send my vehicle to a Ford dealership, since I have a Ford Explorer. In October 2019, I took my vehicle to a Ford dealership, to get my brakes services and I was notified that there is a leak in my transmission!!! Mark Mitsubishi has already replaced the transmission two times.

I had been pre-approved for the price of the car through my own financial institution. I called the dealership and agreed on a closing price on the vehicle and stated multiple times I had already been approved for financing before coming in. I arrive to the dealership and continue with paperwork, where toward the end the sales-person stated they needed to check my credit. I asked WHY when I already had financing in place and was told this was part of every transaction even if I am using my own lender. I had my paperwork in hand and on the sales person's desk from the bank I was approved from, and explained all they had to do was use the approval code they had given me. The sales rep acknowledged multiple times. The finance guy came back (apparently after running my credit AGAIN through multiple institutions of their own) saying my interest rate was higher because of the price of the car. After all is said and done, I go to make my first car payment and the bank I had intended to secure the loan from is telling me I am not an existing customer of theirs. I then had to make phone calls and rummage through paperwork to find the problem. This company had financed me through their own lender right under my nose, at a higher interest rate!! I was adamant about what I needed done and they still managed to take advantage of the sale. This was entirely unethical and I deserve some compensation for the larger total amount of money I now have to pay on this car due to the changes Mark Mitsubishi made to my loan. I have all of my paperwork from the institution I originally set up and credit reports to show the multiple inquiries from their lenders.

Mark Mazda Response • Jul 23, 2019

Thank you for reaching out to us. To clarify, customers are given time to review paperwork and ultimately sign contracts with a figures, including interest rate, for their specific purchase. There is no possible way to hide interest rate from a customer. It must be acknowledged by a signature. The preapproval from the customers bank, ***, is a great partner with our dealership. As stated on the pre approval "The dealership will request your social security number and may request to run a credit report.....for regulatory purposes." In addition is also states "Negotiate and finalize your vehicle purchase. Please review documents carefully to ensure you agree with all final terms, including the APR."

When a customer gets a preapproval, the rate can vary a bit based on the type of vehicle, year, make, and miles. In this case, the preapproval was for 4.59%, and the corresponding Bank of America approval for the specific vehicle came back at 5.09%. See attached. In this case, we assigned the loan to another lender matching the customers signed contract at 5.04%, saving the customer money.

Consumers are always welcome to explore refinancing options as rates change.

DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!!! I traded in my vehicle on 4/9/19 for a truck from their lot. As far as I knew, everything was good to go. On May 17th, I received a call from my previous vehicle's finance company telling me my payment was 30+ days past due and it had been reported to my credit bureaus. I told them I traded it in 45 days ago; they still had not received payment. Coincidentally, 10 minutes later, Mark Mitsubishi calls me stating my paperwork was wrong, the guy who did it had been fired, it fell through the cracks, blah blah blah. The usual "line". So I went back in & signed "new" paperwork & told them that I was pissed because I've never had a late payment & now I have 1 on credit. Their response was great..."well you don't have to pay on the new vehicle for 45 days from today, so just pay on the old vehicle then". WTF! Long story short, it took 38 days for my old finance company to get a payment and now my credit score has fallen 81 points and I have a late payment. Now the icing... I bought an extended warranty which "covers every single thing". That's great and all, but you can't get a service person to call you back to schedule the repairs. It's now been 19 days since "parts were being ordered" and I still haven't received a call back. THIS DEALERSHIP HAS THE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Even if you find the PERFECT vehicle here, do not do it!!! Oh yeah, and Kevin stated they would make this right for me and give me some money back for all of this (I did put $1000 down) and NOTHING... except a late payment & lower credit score... thank you MARK MITSUBISHI.

I purchased a 2014 Jeep Cherokee from Mark Mitsubishi in Scottsdale, AZ. I am located in Missouri but my in-laws were spending a few months in Arizona so they drove the vehicle and thought it was a good deal. They were told that they HAD to purchase either a life-time of window tinting or a Kahu Connector Car, which is a GPS thing, because they priced their cars cheap so that's how they made their money. They agreed to the the GPS since we are in Missouri, which was an additional $698, and proceeded to pay $1000 down on 03/02/19. The car sat on the dealer's lot for another 3 weeks until my in-laws were returning to Missouri. After I had the car for about 2 weeks, the dealership called and said they never installed the part and asked us to "run it by." My husband has talked to the sales manager a number of times and asked him to get a dealership in our area to install the part or just send us a check for the $698. Absolutely nothing has been done and the sales manager is now ignoring our calls. I know they received their money from our finance company so they really don't care at this point but we will now be paying interest & finance charges on an extra $698 that we were charged and the part was not installed.

Mark Mazda Response • May 14, 2019

Since the part was not installed, we will absolutely provide a refund. A check for $698 will be sent to credit the customers account with ***.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Regards

Without my consent to purchase or my knowledge, Mark Mitsubishi submitted a credit check to multiple lending services. Their credit check was regarding the purchase of a new vehicle. I told the salesman upfront that I was NOT interested in the purchase of a new vehicle, much less a 3 cylinder piece of crap. I will never purchase anything from this business again. I am also encouraging others to never do business with Mark Mitsubishi Scottsdale.

Running my credit without my authorization. I went in to see about purchasing a car in early Sept. I did not end up purchasing a vehicle from them and told them several times after I would not be purchasing a vehicle from them ever, On Oct 22nd they again began running my credit and attempting to sell me a vehicle over email.

Mark Mazda Response • Nov 02, 2018

The customer completed the credit application online and only run credit once. Applying for credit for an automobile purchase is legal permissable purpose to run credit.

I traded in my car to purchase a car from Mark Mitsubishi Scottsdale. I purchased a car with this dealer on 7/18/2018 and had it financed with *** bank. Every other week or month I have to make multiples calls telling them my temporary plates are expiring and why have my car not been registered yet. They have had me on multiple occasions driving with expired temporary plates. They continued to tell me that they don't have the title. It has been four months and I am still dealing with expired temporary plates and them re-issuing me plates after repeated phone calls made to them. I have spoken with Jessica at this dealer who is in charge of titling and she is rude and does not return phone calls. I spoke with CJ and Chuck who are the managers at this dealer to inquire about the title and registration and they continue to tell me they don't know why its taking so long and they don't have the title to register my car. I called *** bank who I am financing my car with and they also said they have tried to contact Mark Mitsubishi Scottsdale multiple times regarding the title for the car but they have yet to get any response from this scam dealership. My theory is that either they sold me a bogus car or they did not pay the bank to the previous bank/owner and this why the title cannot be released. I will never ever do any business with these rude people who buys cars without a titles. This will be the 3rd temporary plates they have issued me. I have purchased many cars in my life and have never dealt with anything like this.

Mark Mazda Response • Oct 15, 2018

Thank you for reaching out. Our delay has been getting the original lien released from the previous owner. We have been getting delays from the lender, though are told everything will be cleared up this week. We can have plates and registration done same day as soon as we are able.

Customer Response • Oct 15, 2018

Re: Mark Mitsubishi Scottsdale

I traded in my car that was paid for and Mark Mitsubishi Scottsdale made a profit out of it by giving me a car without a title that they cannot obtain. Mark Mitsubishi Scottsdale intended to commit an illegal transaction at my expense. Their conduct was extreme and outrageous and beyond all bonds of decency. I have suffered a great inconvenience.

According to A.R.S. 258-4409, states “a dealer or manufacture shall not offer for sale or sell a motor vehicle, trailer or semitrailer until the dealer or manufacture has obtained a certificate of the title to the motor vehicle.” In the state of Arizona, when you buy a vehicle from a dealer, they will normally handle car title transfer and registration paperwork for a fee within 15 days of purchase (***).

In addition, I have paid Mark Mitsubishi for the title, plates and transfer fee at the time of purchase…over a at least $1600. They have still failed to obtain the title or give me a date when they will be getting the title.

They sold me a car that they knew the title had a lien on it. They continue to lie.

Sincerely

Mark Mazda Response • Nov 02, 2018

We had a delay in obtaining a title lien release from the lender. The issue has been resolved and the customer has full registration and tags.

I purchased a 2011 *** highlander on 5/12/2014 for a total price of $28,684. We were shown a *** but did not receive a copy in my paperwork showing that were were no issues with this vehicle. I went to trade the vehicle in on 9/06/2016 and was shown anither *** for the vehicle that said there was structural damage reported at the date that mark mitsubishi purchased the vehicle. We purchased the vehicle without having any knowledge of this due to it taking *** 30 days to report things. We had a choice to either keep the vehicle, which we did not feel safe driving anymore, especially with our young children in it or trade it in amd take a huge loss. We received $13000 trade in for the *** highlander. We attemoted to contact mark mitsubishi to give them a chance to make this situation right, but they were not willing to do anything. We tried again to give them an opportunity to make things right when we traded the car in for a bigger family suv. Again they would not do anything to help us. I dont know if there is any recourse for selling us a vehicle with frame damage without notifying us of the issues, but we felt that we were scammed by mark mitsubishi and we are still paying for this scam to this very day. I dont think it is morally or legally right to flip vehicles to customers at full retail price without disclosing structural damage to the customer.

Mark Mazda Response • Dec 17, 2018

There is no evidence that there was any substantial frame damage that would cause any concern for safety or drivability. Attached is the auction condition report showing the car scored a 4.4 of 5 rating with no substantial damage when we bought in in 2014. A 4.4 rating is described as “High Quality" on any previous repairs, if any. Additionally, customers are always welcome and encouraged to have vehicles inspected by their own mechanic or third party. See attached 3rd party condition report and other docs.

Customer Response • Dec 18, 2018

This page of Mark Mitsubishi's copy of the *** that they attached to the message shows that the seller had disclosed structural damage to them. Dealerships are required to disclose structural damage to the buyer. I was not informed of the damage when purchasing the vehicle.

Mark Mazda Response • Dec 19, 2018

"Structural damage" at a wholesale auction does not reflect the condition, safety, or reliability of a vehicle. It simply means that the original structure has been altered or repaired. It does not mean the vehicle is in poor condition or unsafe in any way. The actual condition report provided by *** shows the vehicle was in excellent mechanical, body, and a safe condition scoring a 4.4 of 5. Additionally, the dealership preforms a mechanical and safety inspection to insure the accuracy of the inspection provided by ***. The quality of this vehicle passed in excellent condition from both inspections. As the Revdex.com is aware, Arizona is a buyer beware state. Even though this vehicle was in excellent condition, buyers are always welcome and encouraged to have their own mechanical inspect prior to purchase.

Mark Mitsubishi Contracted a 36month lease to a customer *** on 17 may 2016. Ms *** at the time was the Conservator/Guardian over her mother, *** who at the time was found to be ment*** incapacitated by a Dr and unable to make financial decisions. A representative at the dealership 'Anthony C" assisted and the contract was made under the name of " ***". Ms *** signed "***" and used suspended driver license #*** . Ms *** signed all the related contract info under her mothers name and the contract was subsequently submitted to *** Financial. An attempt to draw up a contract was made previous month under the name of the Conservatorship but the loan could not be granted by *** financial. According to Court rules, contracts have to be signed in the name of the Conservatorship. Mark Mits seems to think Ms *** is Power Attorney and this is incorrect. They in fact knew there was a problem all along but the contract was submitted anyway. There is a procedure and the dealership knows or should know that what they did was unethical. According to the dealership *** 89yrs was not even present during this transaction. The only difference between this sale and a straw purchase is that the purchaser benefited or in this case the Lessee Ms ***, and not ***. ***'s funds in fact payed for all the cost associated with this vehicle to include car insurance. *** paid for 100% cost of this vehicle. Mark Mits provided me with documentation requested on vehicle except the Odometer disclosure statement. They told me they do not have it. it is a legal document that should have been initiated when the vehicle was turned in on or about Sept 16th 2017.

Mark Mazda Response • May 24, 2018

We are happy to provide the odometer statement as requested. See attached.

Customer Response • Jun 05, 2018

Apparently they sent you the wrong Odometer disclosure statement. I'm looking for the Odometer statement when the lease vehicle was turned in to the dealer back on or about 17, September 2017. Also I have more questions for Mark Mitsubishi:1). Is this a common practice for Mark Mitsubishi Scottsdale or it's employees to enter into a vehicle lease contract as was done on this contract made in the name of ***. 2). Who at the Mark Mitsubishi is responsible and authorized this transaction ?

Mark Mazda Response • Jun 22, 2018

the lender, would have performed a lease end inspection with odometer upon pickup. I have requested this information from them in behalf of the customer and should see something soon. The dealership is simply a drop off location for lease returns. The lender is responsible to verify odometer, conditions, and disposition. I would encourage the customer to reach out to *** as well for this information. As far as the other questions, it is normal business practice in the state of Arizona to use a Power of Attorney and/or Court documents such as provided to complete automobile purchase transactions. Furthermore, it was approved by the lender, ***, who ultimately decides whether or not to provide such a loan under the circumstances. *** was provided all court documents they required for this transaction. Joshua S General Manager

Customer Response • Jul 03, 2018

I have few more questions for Mr S- Mark Mitsubishi:On April 7th 2016, a contract was initiated by the Conservator and signed by Conservator for ***. Apparently the Conservator returned to your dealership on May 17, 2016 and initiated another contract. Only this time signed her mothers name. Do you know the difference between POA and Conservator? Did *** Financial know that the name on the contract was an incapacitated 89yr old person?Did *** Financial know that the driver's license used on contract was suspened? You mention *** was provided with Court doc's. What Court documents? Your saying this is standard business practice? What attorney(s) did Mr *** speak to concerning this matter back in 2016?***s decision to approve this loan was based on the information provided. Do you honestly think they would have approved this loan if they knew the underlying circumstances in which this contract was entered?

This dealer was excellent to work with! Very professional and helpful. Lucky and Anthony were great. Couldn't be happier... What a difference from other dealers.
