Review: We contracted with SWL to provide installation of plants and materials for our backyard. We chose this firm based on reviews and expected service. During the construction process, the vendor blamed countless other traits for various issues in the yard. There were multiple change orders for added service - some we were comfortable with, others we were not. The vendor was extremely difficult to work with during the entire project. Upon completion of the install, we noted concerns with the palms on the south[redacted] side of yard as well as several plants that were not taking. He said the palms were fine but replaced a couple plants. 45 days later we noted concerns with same palms and plants. We also had a large hole in the irrigation line that was clearly a result of cheap materials being used. The landscaper's response was that we were out of warranty even though the plants were brought up right after install. And the irrigation line is warrantied for a year. The plants for 90 days. We posted a poor review on Yelp and the landscaper proceeded to attack us personally and said "Good luck with that" when asked for replacement palms and plants. Further, we found out that the contractor has an expired license for the entire duration of the project and has been performing unlicensed for a year. He is also committing work fraud comp by claiming that his employees are independent contractors yet they wear company shirts and drive his trucks. He has personally harassed me since filing a complaint and refused to make good on his work.Desired Settlement: We were initially wanting to have him replace the plants that have died and the palms. We have since become concerned of this vendor from a personal physical standpoint and are not sure about having him in our yard near our family after the personal attacks he has made on us. We either want the palms and plants replaced and guaranteed for the planting period OR a refund to have another vendor do so. We have also paid our landscaper 100 for repair to the irrigation line.
