We’ve ordered a dining table and later a matching bench and continue to receive compliments on them. Phenomenal work and great people.

Consumer states that he has received a refund through [redacted] after disputing the transaction. Consumer considers the matter resolved yet remains dissatisfied with the services of the business.

Review: On 11/18/15 I paid in full for a custom coffee table to the owner of Mark Of The Sawyer, [redacted]. At the time, he said he was busy, but would try to have my table done by the holidays. At the time of my online payment ([redacted]), I asked that he keep me posted with updates on materials and progress. I did not hear a word from him for over a month. On 12/27/15 I followed up with a friendly note via text and email asking for a progress report on my project. 3 days later he replied that his uncle died and that he was really sorry, but he would try to get me my table by the first week of Jan. On 1/8/16 I followed up with an email asking for an update via text, voicemail, and email, and suggested that, if the project was too much for him to handle, maybe we should consider a refund. I did not hear back from him for a week, when he responded that he had been sick, and was sorry for the delay. 3 weeks passed without any further correspondence from him. On 1/29/16 I finally asked for a full refund of my payment. 3 days later he responded with an apology and said that he would refund my money immediately. Since then, no refund has been given, and his only correspondence was to let me know that the money he had put aside for my refund was, in fact, used to refund someone else' money. I don't know what Mr. [redacted] did with my money, but he obviously did not use it to buy my materials or start my project. His communications throughout this period have been terrible, only responding to my inquiries and complaints, and at this point, he has stopped communicating completely. He is either grossly incompetent and unprofessional, or worse, unscrupulous and a liar and a thief. I am writing this report as a warning to anyone who considers doing business with him.Desired Settlement: Although I gave [redacted] considerable warning and opportunities to make good on our contract, at this point, I have had to escalate this matter with [redacted], and will proceed with legal action if necessary. If Mr. [redacted] refunds my money before I file with Small Claims Court, then the matter will be resolved. Once I file, he will be liable not only for the full amount of the refund, but also for the filing fees.
