Fraudulent Business Practices
I made those mistake of sending Mark my vintage Rolex since it was losing time. After holding my watch for 4 weeks, he sends me an email that he will be returning the watch unserviced claiming that it has a broken balance staff. After waiting an additional week, the watch arrived yesterday and is now not only not working, but the hands of the watch were not attached. He claims that they must have fallen off during shipping. Last evening I brought the watch to a Rolex certified watchmaker who was shocked when he removed the back cover of the watch. He said that there are clearly parts missing and that whoever had supposedly worked on this watch either did not know what they were doing or did so maliciously because it is clearly not something that any certified watchmaker would do. I have already filed a complaint with the BBB and will be notifying the state attorney. I will also be suing Mark for the costs to repair the damage that he has caused. I’m at a loss as to how this guy is allowed to defraud so many people.

Sent my Rolex for maintenance and cleaning. Received the watch via shipping and Mark buffed out most of the brushed steel on the band and the watch case. Then added scratches to make it look like brushed steel. He said the case and band were in great shape so he hardly touched it. I wish that was the case. He destroyed it. I had to have the case and band professionally sandblasted and reconditioned at my expense to salvage his shoddy workmanship. I hope the internal service was done properly. It seems to be keeping proper time and winds smoothly. He did offer to try to fix the watch cosmetically but since he did such a poor job in the first place I decided to take it to be professionally restored. He declined to pay for the refinishing too. And doesn't respond to emails. You get what you pay for. If you have a premium product, don't cut corners. Send it to Rolex. Lesson learned. Greg

I have reviewed the response made by the business of a refund in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

He wrote back and said he would not return the watch to me and wanted a refund.   At this point there was no trying to solvethe issue with him, I have no idea if he cracked the crystal, forgot to screwthe crown down properly or was just looking for a free job.  With a customer like this that is just unreasonable and refuses to let me correct thetrouble and says he is going to tell all his friends not to work with me, Ifelt it was just easier to give him a refund so that we can both move on.

I will send him a refund of $225 and put this matter to rest.  Have him confirm his proper mailing address and a check will go out tomorrow. Thanks, [redacted]

I sent my 30 year old Rolex to Mark after it had moisture problem. It had been running well for all these years of snorkeling and showering. Upon return the watch had the same problem. I sent it back and he returned it with a note saying I should no longer swim or bathe with this watch. It is a Rolex "Oyster" Perpetual. Pay the extra money to have it serviced by a professional.

Review: I sent a Rolex watch to this business for repair, for which I paid. When I received it back it wouldn't keep running, so I contacted Me [redacted] and he said to send it back. I did, paying postage and insurance for the second time. Mr [redacted] kept it for a few days and sent it back, saying it was ok. I wore it for a couple of days and it stopped again. I again contacted Mr [redacted], who said I wasn't moving my wrist enough. I reminded him that I have owned and worn this watch for 30+ years and am moving as I always have, so that wasn't the problem. He agreed to look at open it up, reclean, oil, seal and assemble, so I sent it back again. He kept it for a couple of weeks and sent it back. This time it ran, but soon developed moisture under the crystal. I contacted Mr [redacted] and he said to send it back. After three tries, I took it to a jeweler who has a Rolex certified watchmaker doing repairs. The watchmaker said that the back gasket was broken and the movement was dry (in need of oil) He said it needed to be cleaned, oiled, regulated and sealed, all things that I paid Mr [redacted] to do. Remember, I paid Mr [redacted] to do these things and it was up there three times. Perhaps he didn't replace the back gasket when he opened it and the air dried the oil out. I don't know, but do know that I paid him to do something, paid shipping and insurance up there three times and then had to take it to someone else to get it repaired. I think that three chances is enough!Desired Settlement: Mr [redacted] returns the money I paid him to do work that I later had to pay someone else to do over. I will not worry about the shipping and consider that the cost of a lesson learned.
