Mark Thomas Ford Inc. Reviews (4)

We'd been shopping for a used car for some time & stopped in at Mark Thomas. From the very 1st visit when we met Tom Jr (our salesman) the whole process here couldn't have gone smoother! Tom Jr. and their finance guy, Steve Bott both went above & beyond for us. It took a little while to find something we really liked (I'm a little picky...lol), but Tom Jr stayed in contact with us the whole time. Even when he thought he'd found the right vehicle for us, unfortunately the timing wasn't perfect, as my fiance had just had surgery. They held the car for us until we could come in. It was perfect! Tom Jr & Steve worked out the best financing & we love our new car!!! I'd recommend them to everyone!

Review: I had my 1993 Ford Ranger in there 3 different occasions and my vehicle still is not repaired. I had it there on April 18and on April 29th. I then I had to it back in the May 1. All of this was 2014. On April 18, 2014 there was a clunking noise when turning. They replaced wheel bearings and said that should fix the problem. It did not. So they said it needed stabilizer links and there was a leak in the power steering hoses. So we took it back in on April 29, 2014. They said fixing the stabilizers would fix the problem. It did not. They said that I would not need an alignment. But it did need one so we took it back for the alignment and the clunking noise in it again. We took it in on May 1, 2014 for an alignment and the noise again. The steering wheel is still off like an alignment was never done on it and they couldn't find what was making the noise. There was nothing wrong with this vehicle except a clunking noise and a leak in the power steering hoses. The truck is in very good shape. There is still a leak in the power steering and the alignment is not right. It was perfect until they messed with the repairs. Nothing is any different. I still have the clunking noise and the alignment is not right. And it still leaks. Here is a breakdown of what we spent on the repairs. April 18 was $[redacted] April 29 was $[redacted] May 1 was $[redacted] A total of $[redacted]Desired Settlement: I want the money that I gave to them to fix my truck. Which the repairs they did did not fix it when they said it would. I would like the money back so I could take it elsewhere to get it repaired. I would like the $[redacted] back if that is possible.

Response:

I am proud of our Service Dept a complaint like this is extremely rare as you know. Being that the vehicle is 21 years old there is probably multiple issues with this vehicle even though it is a very nice looking vehicle that belongs to a gentleman that beleives in maintaining his Ranger. I dont beleive a refund for the parts and labor would be possible at this time. I would be willing to offer any future service performed on this vehicle at our facility at a discount of [redacted] off on labor and a discount of [redacted] on any parts installed here on this Ranger. Thanks, [redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.

Regards,

I purchased a used 2012 Ford Focus and the vehicle was delivered too me with badly stained rear seats. Now granted, I should have complained immediately but I didn't. The reason for buying the Focus was that someone totaled the Pontiac Vibe I was driving and I was in a hurry for a car and frankly I didn't have time to take it back and complain because of work demands at the time.

Approximately 11 months later there as a recall on the transmission. So I took the car in for repairs because it was shuttering badly when the car was moving slowly. While I had the car in the shop for the repairs, I thought I'd ask the sales manager why the car was delivered to me that way. He straight up called me a liar and said that I was just there trying to get a free detail on the car. He could have looked up the CarFax or the information that they had from when they purchased the car at auction...but no, I was a liar. A very rude man. I looked up [redacted]'s profile and picture, it wasn't him...this guy wouldn't tell me his name when I asked. The sales manager, he's cool, my car transmission was reprogrammed and it's okay. Lesson learned, buy my new/used Fords somewhere other than Mark Thomas...sad to say that most the folks there are doing a great job. But the sales manager that day ruined the experience for me. Calling a customer a liar and accusing me of stopping in for a 'free detail'.. unbelievable customer treatment.

Review: On April 10th of 2014 I had contacted Mark Thomas Ford inquiring about a loan in doing so I spoke to a sales rep named [redacted] he took down my personal information including my social security number and asked for my permission to run a credit check for loans. I had agreed after this conversation I NEVER heard back from the dealer to tell me if I had successfully/unsuccessfully been pre-approved for an auto loan. I waited it out only to realize the dealer had harmed my credit with multiple inquiries and no follow up. I contacted the dealer today nearly 1 MONTH later to tell them of the ordeal and they made numerous excuses 1 siting they didnt have the correct number I said you have the correct number they had my current phone number which had never been disconnected. I than got a return call back saying Oh [redacted] but dont you remember I called and left you a detailed message you needed more money down NO SUCH CALL was made or received they are making numberous excuses to cover there butt because they are aware Im filing this and disputing with the credit bureau.Desired Settlement: I would like my credit report to be rectified I want all inquiries made by Mark Thomas removed as they NEVER did pre-approve or deny me a loan they provided NO services for me so my credit shouldnt have to take a hit for their errors and poor customer service.

Response:

I spoke with the individuals involved and have been told they did try to secure financing,on [redacted] behalf. She was referred to us by a friend of hers because of our efficiency . It is unfortunate the financing did not work out for her. This usually is a result of a derogatory credit past & knowing this is more than likely the reason she attempted to get pre-approved. We wish her the best and truly hoped to get her the car of her dreams....Thanks [redacted] @ Mark Thomas Ford
