Today, 4/11/14 2:20 p. m., we went to Marketon. Their advertisement showed 5 lbs. of oranges for 1 dollar. My cousin bought 3 bags. The salesperson said 10 lb. limit per family, so he sold my cousin 2 bags for about 14 lbs. I wanted to buy 1 bag of oranges. A girl named [redacted] told every cashier to not sell it to me. I complained to the cashier named [redacted] and wanted to see the manager about this. He said he was manager. He still said 10 lbs. per family. I think that's very unfair. These are the reasons why: 1. Their adverstisement doesn't show 10 lbs. per family. 2. We are not in the same family. If needed, we can show you our ID's. I hope Revdex.com will help us talk to them about this. Thank you!Business Response First thing before I describe what happen on the day of this incident, its very rude for this person to even commenting that I don't deserve my position as manager. It shows that this customer is doing this for more then just a complaint or just simple some how to make this case bigger then what it has to be. Now on this day I was the cashier that help this family with there groceries. When I almost got done with their groceries at the checkout I notify them that there was a limit on Mandarins that week for 10 lbs. (Not oranges) they had a total amount of 20lbs of mandarins, I told the family I was going to let have 14 lbs because it was 2 full bags and I didn't want to be rude to rip the bag and take them out to equal 10 lbs. They weren't pleased about the limit but didn't say anything about it. They left the store, and about 5 minutes later I saw the same lady that I checked out trying to buy more mandarins. I approach the register where she was trying to pay and I reminder her that there was limit per family. She ignored and kept waiting in line, that's when I instructed the cashier to tell the lady that there was a limit of them and she was sorry but couldn't sell the bag of mandarins she was trying to pay. When she was told this she got very angry and started screaming, she got her husband and walk my way to let me know that I was racially profiling them because there was "Asian" The husband ask for me to show him where did it say that there a limit. I showed him the weekly ad and pointed out that in the bottom of the paper it describes "We reserve the right to limit quantities" Also I showed him where the mandarins were and next to the price it had a sign that said "limit 10 lbs" And after I showed him all this he still refused to accept the limit of the mandarins and wanted to speak to the manager. I told him I was the Asst Manager and the store Manager was off that day. I try to help the customer as best I could, I would apologize if in any way it was my fault or in any way was I rude to them. But I try to give an answer to anything they needed, the customer was just not pleased because they won't respect the limits the store puts.
