Good afternoon, I would love to discuss this more with you. I can speak in generic terms as I do not have a HIPPA release to discuss *** *** treatment with you. Basically as stated by her we are waiting on payment from date of service 3/21/before any refund can be
processed. I explained this to *** *** and will be happy to provide a refund once her total acct is paid in full. I also explained to her its like a utility bill, if you overpay on your power bill this month, you cant demand a refund of the overpayment if you didn't pay the bill last month and have a balance

I am rejecting this response because:I spoke with *** *** at length about why it you are not allowed to apply payment for one dental service to another procedure. I have also filed a complaint with *** *** who agrees that this is the case. The service I was treated for and paid over the negotiated amount was on 5/4/16. I was told that I had no dental benefits left and I would have to pay $713.00, this was not true and *** *** *** then turned around and billed my insurance company for this same visit and were paid by my insurance company (double paid). My paitient portion for this visit is only $- that's it. So now *** *** *** has been double paid for a single service.The other claim *** *** is referring to relates to a service of 3/21/16. *** *** *** incorrectly billed my secondary insurance company as primary and then failed to bill the primary insurance company as secondary. They did not submit a claim for the secondary until 8/25/16. Both primary and secondary have paid on this claim, *** *** is also aware of this and will be questioning on them why they are withholding funds. My total patient portion is much less than the funds they are withholding of $713.00.I explained to *** *** that duplicate billing for the same procedure is not allowed in the insurance industry and I would report this, which I have.Both claims have been completed and paid in full the negotiate rate by the insurance company. They do have all funds due to them, they are just not refunding my money. I have proof of this and have submitted. I person all attended to the follon both claims and have copies of credit card payments and insurance checks. The utility bill reference is getting a little old, and is not relevant in a medical / dental claim situation. This business has lost a client for the lack of folland claim billing. Actually, I should be receiving interest on the funds they are holding and should be able to speak to the dentist that treated me but they will not provide this without setting up an appointment do to do so - I take it I would be charged for that too? That is not good business and I'm sure is violation of a consumer's rights here in Colorado.I really don't know what is going on with this business, it is very unusual for a dental practice to act in this fashion. They have been paid, they are just not returning the funds. Maybe they need to loose their ability to be a *** *** provider to reinforce the fact they are not allowed to duplicate bill on an insurance claim and get away with it.
