I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Thank you for your attention to this matterIt appears that you have done your due diligence and for me, there is no real resolution here In retrospect , I wish I had simply duct taped my cord back together and continued using my vacuum in spite of fear of electrical shockMy vacuum is now virtually useless as a result of the repairsI will now be forced to purchase a new vacuum and it is very unlikely that if I can find one equal to the one I have, that I will be able to afford it. Thank you for your patience while we reviewed and
researched the complaint filed by Ms*** Aerus, formerly known as Electrolux from 1924-2004, is the manufacturer of high quality floor care equipment, air and water purifiers, and other healthy home productsWe appreciate the opportunity to respond to Ms*** concerns.Ms*** originally contacted the Aerus location in Macon, Georgia requesting a replacement cord for her year old Prolux commercial upright Unfortunately, due to the age of the machine, the original style cord is no longer available for this unit and as stated in her complaint, Ms*** was not happy with the replacement cord that was installed as it was not as long or as thick as her original cord.We have verified with our Engineering department that the cord that was installed on Ms***'s vacuum is an appropriate cord if Ms*** is using the machine in a residential settingIf she prefers, we do have one other cord that could be installed that has slightly thicker insulation for a commercial environment, although it would not appear very different to the naked eyeWe do not have another cord length available other than the length that is currently on her vacuum.The Macon store had also installed a new roller brush, belt, bearing, pulley, wiring harness and duct hose on her vacuum which is a common repair for an older machineNone of these replacements parts should cause any problem with the suction of the machine and should actually improve the vacuum's performance Since Ms*** was dissatisfied with her repairs, the Macon location refunded her entire repair bill, $145.80, and allowed her to keep all the replacement parts that had been installed atno charge.We have let Ms*** know that if she will bring the vacuum to the Macon store, we can certainly have them re-examine her cleaner for any performance issues and install the commercial cord described above, We would be able to install the cord for her at no charge as a courtesy; however, we would need to charge for any other parts or repairs that are neededUnfortunately, we do not have anyone at the current time that can travel to her home and do the work there, but if Ms*** will let us know in advance that she is coming in, we will coordinate the service with the Macon store.We realize this is not the resolution that Ms*** desíred, but unfortunately we are not able to provide her with a replacement machine as she requestedIf we may provide additional information or assistance, please feel free to contact me at 800-243-9078.Sincerely*** ***Manager, Aerus Customer Service
