Mark's Pool Care

We have had Mark's Pool Care keep our swimming pool clean and our pumps and filters running for more than five years now. Mark and [redacted] have been nothing but professional to us in our years of doing business with them. They are punctual and have been very courteous and friendly to us. Mark and [redacted] are both very knowledgeable about their profession and never come unprepared to our house. Since we have employed their services, there has not been one instance of algae blooming or water stagnation as we have had with other pool services before Mark's. We had no idea that our filter was poised to break last summer, but Mark expertly predicted that a malfunction with our filter was going to happen. He showed us how to manage the problem until he could get the parts needed to fix the filter, and he got those parts for us at a discount that was at his expense. Late last year he also diagnosed a problem with our pool pump motor and gave us references to accredited repair services that could fix it. The reference we followed up on was very reliable and competent, and we had our motor fixed correctly in short order. Mark and [redacted] also work fast and efficiently, rarely taking more than an hour to gather leaves and other floating debris from the pool and add chemicals to prevent algae formation, as well as adjust pH. We have never been overcharged by them and the prices for their services are competitive against other local pool services. Overall, this is an excellent pool care service and we would recommend Mark's Pool Care to anyone.

We have been with Mark's Pool Care for 6 years, since we moved into our North Poway home in 2010, based upon the recommendation of our neighbors. We have a lot of trees, and our pool is a lot of work. Mark has been uncompromisingly diligent in his care of the pool and his maintenance of the equipment. When there's a problem with the pool he lets me know immediately. If there are extra costs he approves with me ahead of time. His price is fair given the amount of work. When I notice a problem with the pool equipment, I can text him and he always gets back to me immediately and deals with the situation right away. He is good with our dogs, and always brings dog treats. Our pools is equipped with a safety net cover, for our toddlers' safety, which Mark removes and replaces every week - a time consuming process that he is willing to do for us. He always leaves a note to let us know the pool was serviced. He is dedicated to his profession and makes a point of staying on top of new products, techniques, etc. He seems to take pride in doing good work and taking good care of his customers. Mark spends a lot of time on our pool each week, and the pool is always clean and looks great.

Overall a huge disappointment. He was never on time. One day imparticular he gave us a1 hr window that he would arrive and then was a no show. He called 1 hour after the scheduled time to reschedule for the following day and then sent an email saying he was terminating service immediately. Unprofessional. While brushing the sides of the pool he broke the underwater light. He called and told us what happened and stated that he had cleaned up all the glass from the bottom of the pool. When we asked that he cover the cost of repair for breaking the light he refused saying he was not responsible for any of the cost to replace it and that the notion he broke it by brushing the light was incorrect. One month after breaking the light he informed us the pool was dangerous and we should not swim until the light was fixed by a professional. In that month timeframe the weather became warm our family had been swimming on several occasions and found glass shards from the light on the bottom of the pool. Then we find out the pool is dangerous to be swimming in. On a few occasions over the winter when we weren't using the pool he found dead gophers around the pool and would put them in the trash can at the pool but not tell anyone until we discovered the smell several days later. Expensive. $145/month for cleaning the pool. Although the pool did not have algae growing in it the pool was never totally clean to our satisfaction.

Mark's Pool Care has been servicing our pool for more than three years. We are a good sized HOA with 260 homes. Our pool and spa are opened to the residents every day and the pool is heated year around. A couple of years ago Mark's Pool Care converted the pool to salt water, with great success. Previously we used a few other pool service providers with mixed results. We have never had anyone that could compare to Mark's Pool Service with regard to cleanlyness and water clarity. They service our pool and spa twice a week and have never missed a days service. When they are out for whatever reason they have others in the business come in and do the service. They are thorough, understanding and dependable. We would be hard pressed to find anyone that could compete with them. They are the BEST!

I've been an extremely satisfied customer of Mark's Pool Care for about four years. After taking care of my own pool for about 15 years, I was tired of it and wanted a reliable service I could turn to. Boy did I hit the jackpot with Mark's Pool Care!! Mark Miiddledorf is very conscientious and an expert in pool service and maintenance. He truly knows his stuff and his goal is to treat your pool like it's his own. He also makes it a point to explain things very thoroughly so you understand just what's needed to solve a particular problem. His rates are also very competitive and he is flexible in working with you. If you don't know who to turn to for pool service I highly recommended Mr. Middledorf!! You won't be disappointed!

Anyone who has a pool knows that excellent maintenance is as essential as water. My pool is 40 years old, and I have had a number of pool maintenance companies servicing my pool over the years. For the last eight years Mark of Mark’s Pool Care has been providing this service, and he is the BEST EVER! My pool has never looked better.
Mark is incredibly reliable. I always know what day he will be servicing the pool. He promptly advises of any change in schedule or vacation days. He is completely professional, and always willing to “go the extra mile” to provide the best service possible.
Mark keeps track of the timing of necessary service for my filter so I don’t have to worry about it. If other pool equipment such as the heater, pump, electrical, vacuum system needs service or replacement, Mark is extremely knowledgeable about products and has also recommended contractors to handle tasks that are outside of his area of expertise. Mark is not one to say he can do something when he has no experience with the task, and I have always been satisfied with work performed by those he recommends.
Mark is a perfectionist when it comes to the chemical balance of the water in my pool. Not only is it consistently crystal clear, but also I get no complaints about eye or skin irritation from excessive chlorination or pH imbalance.
I don’t recall how I came to learn of Mark’s Pool Care, but I am very glad I did. I couldn’t be happier with this service, and did I mention he does this for a very reasonable monthly charge?
