Marpal Disposal Reviews (3)

I cancelled my service January 8 before the monthly service began. I received nothing until May 14 when I received a letter from a collection company stating I have to pay them the entire month of January and a fee to collect their garbage can. So not right to charge the monthly fee when I received no service!

Review: Received a bill for $300.24, dated 4/2/15 for a 1 year renewal of service. The letter with the bill noted that my account was past due. This was the first bill I had received. The same thing occurred each of the last few years (received past due bill although it was the first time I had seen it). I decided to cancel service at this point. I called customer service and spoke to Jeannine (early April I believe). She said that they would pick up my toter and send me a bill for the removal and any balance. On 5/4/15 I received a "Final Notice" saying that I owe $69.54 (no explanation as to how this amount was calculated). The letter again said I'm past due (this was once again the first time I received this iteration of the bill) and threatened to turn my account over to a collection agency and stating that they "reserve the right to initiate further legal action and report derogatory credit information to one or more of the major credit reporting bureaus". The letter was signed from the "Collections Department". I immediately called customer service again and spoke to Jeannine who agreed that this was all a mistake and to write off the full balance. She noted that I will receive a bill for the toter disposal. On 5/6/15, I decided to check my account online via the Website and it showed I still have a $69.54 balance. Called customer service again and spoke to Jeannine who assured me that she passed on my info to the "Collections Department". Given the harassing, threatening nature of the letter(s) and the failure to remedy this previously, I do not have faith that this will happen.Desired Settlement: I am asking that any balance I have be written off , including "toter disposal" and I would like a letter in the mail and an email confirming that my account is closed and in good standing.

Review: Marpal Disposal has been been over charging me every quarter by at least $90.00 for the past 4 years since July of 2010. I have called marpal and spoke to Rep named [redacted] at [redacted] on Monday July 14, 2014 and rectified the problem by issuing me credit of over $ 90.00 for my June of 2014 quarter bill to $75.00 per quarter, which is my new corrected price that I will be paying from this point on. I have been paying on average of $165.00 per quarter since of July of 2010 which is when we purchased our new home in [redacted]. On my previous bills, Marpal has been adding a residential service fee of $25.00 per month =$75.00 per quarter on top of a disposal charge of $40.40 per quarter, and fuel recovery fee of $40.00 per quarter including a recycle charge. I found out by my neighbours on my block who also use Marpal Disposal that I was being over charged. My neighbours have been paying on average of $75.00 per quarter and they have been here longer than me.mi also checked with waste management and advised me that I was over charged by Marpal and their rates were around $68.00 per quarter. I have realized from neighbours and waste management that Marpal Disposal has been adding a very high fuel cost and a residential disposal fee which is the same as a residential service. My bill should have only residential service fee and no disposal fee since the residential fee covers the disposal fee. Neither of my neighbours have a disposal fee added to their bill. Please note that I called marpal disposal again today July 17, 2014 requesting to have the company refund the money I have over payed since July of 2010, which on average at least $90.00 per quarter ($360.00 per year times 4 years) but Marpal refused by telling me that I now have a new rate and gave me credit for this June 2014 quarter.Desired Settlement: Please see above. I am kindly requesting a refund of my money that I have been over paying since July of 2010 or a refund in service equal to the money I have over paid. I would be satisfied in either outcome. Thank you.
