Marrins' Moving Systems, Ltd. Reviews (1)

Review: I hired Marrins Moving to move from one apartment [redacted]) to another ([redacted]) on June [redacted], 2013. The agreement was for the move to be completed in one day (June [redacted]), prior to 5pm. This included some packing. They said they would bring boxes and packing equipment and that the estimated move time would be six hours. This agreement was made over the phone. No items were moved into the second location on June**, 2013. The Marrins Movers truck did not arrive at [redacted] until after 5pm, when the items could not be moved into the building. While moving from the first apartment two of the three movers held a conversation with a female neighbor in our building and were not working. We found one of them in her apartment during our moving process. We complained to the third worker but this did not help. Multiple times we found two of the three workers not working and sitting on the front stoop chatting. We asked them to continue to work but they only did off and on. This kept us from moving into the second location on time. At the second location on June **, 2013 after being blamed for the move being late byt [redacted] at Marrins I agreed to have the items re-delivered free of charge (and stored free of charge) at 9am the next morning (June **, 2013) and for the move to be completed by 2pm June [redacted], 2013. This meant missing unplanned work hours to receive the delivery. Marrins Moving said they would call when they truck was on it's way before 9am. We received no call. When we called to check in a staff member named [redacted] yelled at myself and my husband and told us to wait. He also lied about our agreement the previous day and claimed he never said 9am. He continued to blame us for all the problems. He claimed the truck was full and pushed the time the previous day which it was not since myself and my husband saw it and it was three quarters full. He said the job had been a full pack which it was not. Three quarters of our items were already packed when the movers arrived on June [redacted], 2013. Myself and my husband were hung up on 4 times throughout the day. We were put on hold and then disconnected. [redacted] then began to ignore our calls and only picked up the phone when we called from a new number. [redacted] said he no longer wanted us calling to checking in and to just wait. Marrins Moving delivery did not arrive with the moving items until 4:47pm June [redacted], 2013. Seven hours and 17 minutes after the agreed delivery time. Once again the items could not be brought into the building past the 5pm delivery time. An entire work day was lost for my husband waiting on the delivery that never came. When contacting Marrins Movers my husband and I got no apologies and more lies saying he never said 9am was the delivery time. Since the second day of delivery was not completed, Marrins Movers agreed to deliver and move in the items (free of any extra charge) the next day, June **, 2013 before 5pm since they needed their truck back. Not because we were costumers who needed our items. The delivery time was set at a 1pm to 3pm window. Once again causing myself and my husband to miss work hours. Marrins Movers did not arrive until 3:35pm, past the window time. When calling to check in on where they were [redacted] again avoided our calls. I got hung up while on hold to connect with [redacted]. They said 6 movers would be there. Only three arrived. Two later arrived after 5pm at 5:45pm. The movers began to move the items in and did not complete the service by 5pm as agreed. One mover complained his back hurt and stopped working numerous times. We convinced the building to sympathize with us and they agreed to allow the move to be completed but we know this meant we could possibly not get our moving security deposit back from the building due to the fact it meant the Super in the building had to work overtime to oversee the move into the building. When the move was completed at 6:30 pm on June [redacted], 2013 we refused payment. Though we did tip the workers and one of them ripped up a $10 dollar bill and threw it on the ground in front of myself and my husband. The agreed upon service had not been completed in a reasonable or agreed upon time. A one day move turned into three days. The company refused communication by avoiding our phone calls. When we called from a new number to get though [redacted] yelled at both myself and my husband and repeatedly lied about terms he promised prior over the phone. My husband and I were left with only the clothes on our back for 2 nights. We had to spend money on clothing and toiletries to last the extra days without our belongings. We missed work hours due to the company not completing their end of the agreement and lying about delivery dates and times. We would like the small amount of service we did receive to be complimentary.Desired Settlement: The agreed upon service had not been completed in a reasonable or agreed upon time. A one day move turned into 3 days. We were without any personal belongings other then the clothes on our back and wallets for three days.
