I went to the above hotel and I was bitten by an insect (not sure what type) at the hotel. I did not initially advice the hotel because in my wildest nightmare did I think the small little bump would mount to anything. I was not trying to get a lawsuit and the disrespectful customer service rep in risk management Mary Ann G. of that nor did I tell the hotel to take credit off from my bill. The representative from the hotel Mary Ann G. in called me today to ask me what happened and I told her. In everything she said, she wanted me to know they were not paying for the 911 bill. My blood pressure went up 150/90 probably because of anxiety only because this has never happened to me before. I never had an allergic reaction from anything nor when I got bitten by an insect or something it never got big enough for me to worry so I never thought to let them know but 3am in the morning when I noticed it had gotten swollen - I did call the hotel but the sad part about it no one called me to check on me to see how I was doing and her phone call to me was very very upsetting and disappointing to me. In other words, all she wanted to assure me was that they don't pay for things like that because they inspected the room after I left to assure me there were no signs of insects -they even asked me did I want them to get it inspected and I said what good would that do me. If it is something they want to do by all means feel free to do. My most frightening issue after my leg was swollen was I was scared that it would spread and something would get infected and it would become major. I also asked Mary Ann could I speak to anyone higher than her because again her customer service was very disturbing to me..I am a paying customer. She advised me there was no one other than her that I could talk to her and she would have her insurance people call me but I am not sure why when she has already pre-warned me they are not paying for nothing. Terrible service and I am furious.

Desired Outcome

Other (requires explanation) I want to report the bad service that I got on their account. I want them to acknowledge that it happened on their grounds and to act as if nothing should be done and I am responsible for everything. I thin they have a part in this issue since it happened on their grounds.

My name is Maryann G. and I am the Corporate Risk Manager/Claims Administrator for Columbia Sussex Corporation, Columbia Sussex Management LLC and C? Sanibel LLC who are the parent company, management company and ownership company of the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa. I am responding to the complaint that you have received from Ms. ***.
Based on my conversation with Ms. and her extreme displeasure with my denial of her medical bill payments this is now an insurance matter. Our Resolution Manager, John A. attempted to contact the guest on December 15th at XXX-XXX-XXXX. He was unable to reach her so be sent out a contact letter. I will reach out to him today to ask that he try to phone her gain.
Our liability or responsibility will be determined once the investigation is concluded by our Third Party Administrator

I accept the response the fact that she did respond. She is correct that Mr. John A. reached out to me twice and sent me a letter. The reason I did not respond to Mr. A. earlier is due to the fact Ms. Mary Ann in her initial conversation with me informed me they were not paying any of my medical fees because after they checked the room they found nothing alarming and it was not any negligence of the hotel.

This company has not one time apologized sincerely or shown any concern that I was bit at their hotel. I will not go back and forward with this company. I see how they operate their business when it comes to customer service. Also, I am looking for the Marriott to compensate me should I consult them or their insurance company concerning medical bills. Should they choose to do any of the above, please do so. If not, I end my conversation.

I got your message and actually just received your letter.

I am not sure what purpose you are calling me because the rude representative Mary Ann G. from risk management has already proudly told me that the Marriott is not paying any of my doctor bills because it was not their fault so seems like they have already ruled out doing anything for me not even an apology and have closed the case. Terrible service. Never seen nothing like it.
